Fred Thompson Attacked Left and Right

Some on the right question whether Fred Thompson is a true Christian. A Reuter’s article about the former Senator’s ex-wife and ex-girlfriends, with whom he has remained on good terms, endorse him.

Those on the left, according to NewsMax.com, fear his sudden rise in the polls and his personality and his popularity. This could be a real challenge to their sure thing, the election of the Rodham-Clinton Obama ticket. So not taking any chances the Democrats do what they do best – tear down and assassinate the opposition. The Democrats claim he is not the political outsider he portrays himself to be, because he spent a long time as a Washington lobbyist. They also accuse him of being a Bush-defender.

After the Amnesty fiasco Senator Thompson remains fifth on the list of my top 5 candidates for President. Senator Brownback falls from 2nd to 3rd because of his unfortunate vote to bring back the Amnesty bill when he voted with the 63 other senators. This may have cost him any chance for the nomination, at least it has cost him my vote.

There just may be something to Senator Thompson if both the left and right are critical of him. He may declare his candidacy later this month. He is worth watching. Thompson-Hunter may be just the ticket.

gregjaye’s slightly revised top presidential candidates list as of 7/2/07 are:

#1 Choice is: Representative Duncan Hunter
#2 Choice is: former Governor Mike Huckabee
#3 Choice is: Senator Sam Brownback
#4 Choice is: Representative Tom Tancredo
#5 Choice is: former Senator Fred Thompson

Fred just hired a homosexual as one of his top senior advisors. Aren't you "social conservatives" against such abominations? Where does Fred stand on the issue of same sex marriage? Oh thats right...he is for civil unions.

Not exactly the SoCon some have painted him to be, now is it?

    Seems Fred is a fraud.

  2. I haven't checked out this claim that Fred Thompson said he thinks early-term abortions should be legal or that he supported McCain-Feingold.

    #1 Tancredo
    #2 Huckabee

No one else in the GOP race is worth voting for.

  3. well all candidates have something positive and negative about them. one should do a 2008 Presidential Candidates comparison and decide for themselves who to support.

  4. The link in the above comment does not contain all of the candidates. But it does say that McCain and Romney both believe that abortion should be legal in cases of rape and incest. If any pro-lifer had any inkling of voting for either of those two, I think that this should put that idea to rest.
