Freedom, Part 2

In yesterday’s article (part 1 of a 2-part series) we said that freedom means something different to leftists' or radical liberals' worldview than it does to those on the right, conservatives' or “radical” patriots' worldview. Typically the radical left and those with a liberal worldview reject the ultimate, absolute authority of God and therefore cannot experience true freedom. Their freedom is the false freedom we mentioned yesterday.

RESPONSIBILITY
.

So if the Son (Jesus Christ) sets you free, you will be free indeed.

--- The Bible, John 8:36

"Freedom is a package deal - with it comes responsibilities and consequences."

--- Unknown

“LICENSE is freedom without responsibility. It is doing whatever one pleases in complete disregard for the rights of others. In the minds of some, freedom means to be free from the need of regulations, rules, and responsibilities. If everyone felt this way, we would live in a world of anarchy and chaos. License destroys freedom, for in a world of license, no one can be trusted. The streets are no longer safe, and everyone becomes a prisoner of fear.”

--- Chuck Gallozzi

.
CONSEQUENCES

.

“You have the freedom to choose your actions; you don't have the freedom to choose the consequences of your actions.”

--- Unknown

ORDER

.

“Order without liberty and liberty without order are equally destructive.”

--- Theodore Roosevelt

SELF-CONTROL

“As far as your self-control goes, as far goes your freedom.”

--- Marie Von Ebner-Eschenbach

“Freedom is not procured by a full enjoyment of what is desired, but by controlling the desire.”

--- Epictetus

POWER OF AN INFORMED PUBLIC

.

“The only sure bulwark of continuing liberty is a government strong enough to protect the interests of the people, and a people strong enough and well enough informed to maintain its sovereign control over the government.”

--- Frankin D. Roosevelt

[ Isn’t this exactly what makes conservative talk radio and the alternative media so successful and so necessary? Isn’t this what makes talk radio such a great alternative to the liberally biased and controlled mainstream media? ]

.

SACRIFICE

.

“The Tree of Liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure.

--- President Thomas Jefferson

BLEST DEFENSES

.

.

“We have four boxes with which to defend our freedom: the soap box, the ballot box, the jury box, and the cartridge box.”

--- Unknown

This last quote captures the essence of what it is to be an American. It also outlines how we can best protect our freedom. Make A Good Choice and be a “radical” patriot who will to and vote for people who will restore the values and principles that made America the land of the free and the home of the brave . . .

    An excellent perspective on freedom.

The leftist-liberal viewpoint is indeed a pathway to enslavement.

It is indeed a blessing to know the TRUTH and to experience it in one's life. The truth shall set you free--just like Jesus said it would--that's real freedom. And to have that freedom first and foremost helps us to truly appreciate the freedoms that we still have left to enjoy in America and other parts of the world shared by those who have that great blessing.
