Freedom, Part 1

Lady Liberty, Symbol of Freedom

Freedom is such a misused, misappropriated and misapplied word today. Pro-death proponents claim a woman should have the unfettered “freedom” to kill her offspring. Homosexuals, lesbians, transgendered and transvestites contend that they should have the “freedom” to practice their perverse, unnatural, immoral and unhealthy lifestyles openly without any moral restraint and to encourage children to participate and be drawn into it..

Additionally, to the atheist, non-Christians and many activist judges and politicians in this society, “freedom” is the right to be free of any exposure to God, Jesus Christ and true Christianity in government, the public square, our schools, etc. For example, the
ACLU, Americans for the Separation of Church and State, People for the “American” Way and others are working to remove the 10 commandment plaques, “One Nation under God” from our Pledge of Allegiance and Nativity scenes, etc from public display.

Freedom, therefore, to a radical leftist means something entirely different in contrast to what it means to a “radical” patriot. The following array of quotes is meant to provoke thought in this mid week birthday celebration of America and to see the difference in the meaning of freedom.

.

TWO FREEDOMS

“There are two freedoms -- the false, where a man is free to do what he likes; the true, where he is free to do what he ought.”

--- Charles Kingsley

“Freedom is just another word for "nothing to lose."

--- Kris Kristofferson

“Everything can be taken from a man but ... the last of the human freedoms - to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way.”

--- Victor Frankl

“For what avail the plough o sail,
Or land or life, if freedom fail?”
“Boston” Stanza 15

--- Ralph Waldo Emerson

Kristofferson’s and Hollywood’s freedom is false. Freedom is much more than just another word. It is not “nothing left to lose.”. Freedom is not this hedonistic, atheistic, narcissistic self-indulgent – if it feels good do it –philosophy that is so prevalent and so encouraged by the amoral and immoral radical leftist elite in academia, the media, politics, entertainment, and even in much of America’s mainstream churches.
.
Tomorrow we will have some additional quotes and thoughts on which to contemplate on this important American holiday, Independence Day.
.
To be continued.
