LifeNews.com editor Steven Ertelt reported that the monolith abortion business Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) has become a billion dollar operation (no pun intended). It took in $1.017 billion dollars in income for the first time in its dastardly history according to its latest annual report for 2006-2007.
According to Entelt the Planned Parenthood annual report shows that the number of abortions provided increased from the previous reporting year from 264,943 to 289,650. The annual report also showed that Planned Parenthood more than doubled its “excess of revenues over expenses” in 2006 over the previous year. According to its annual report Planned Parenthood received a massive $336 million in government grants and contracts.
In the Entelt article Tony Perkins, Family Research Council President, was quoted as saying, “A majority of Americans oppose taxpayer funding of abortion -- however, still Planned Parenthood receives more than $300 million in taxpayer funding each year for 'family planning' projects that help bolster their abortion trade.”
Perkins additionally made three cogent observations in the LifeNews.com article regarding this Planned Parenthood annual report.

Perkins additionally made three cogent observations in the LifeNews.com article regarding this Planned Parenthood annual report.
First, Perkins informed LifeNews that Planned Parenthood was not a "wise investment" of public money because of its history, asking, "Would you invest in a company whose affiliates are complicit in sexual crimes against children?" He was referring the fact that there have been many instances of Planned Parenthood facilities doing abortions on victims of statutory rape and sexual abuse and not reporting those crimes to the authorities. Two recent examples are cases pending in Ohio and Kansas.
Second, Perkins queried, "Would you take your hard-earned money and pile it into a company whose fundraisers "get excited" when someone wishes to target African-American babies for extinction?" His comment relates to a recent investigative report from students at UCLA who found Planned Parenthood officials excited about receiving donations from a racist donor.
Third, Perkins said the ultimate insult to the majority of Americans who are pro-life is the fact that Planned Parenthood plans still receives government funds despite the fact its political action committee will spend $10 million this year election pro-abortion candidates.
TAKE ACTION
The Family Research Council rightfully claims that the “Majority of Americans wouldn't invest in a company that conspires in sexual crimes against children, accepts racially-motivated donations, promotes pornography to kids, devotes millions to the election of pro-abortion politicians, and uses unsanitary equipment to treat patients. Unfortunately, through Medicaid and Title X, the federal government is forcing taxpayers to do just that.”
Therefore, the Family Research Council urges every like minded American to sign this petition to President Bush, which FRC will deliver to the White House, asking him to approve new Title X regulations that will ensure no federal money goes to subsidize the abortion facilities of groups like Planned Parenthood. FRC urges everyone to also ask the President to ensure that legitimate clinics are not forced to refer for abortions. When you are done signing this petition, please forward it to all your friends.
According to Chuck Baldwin, McCain voted for the bill which put Title X funds up for grabs (and which Planned Parenthood gladly took). President Bush signed this bill into law.
