Sign Petition for Ohio to Secede from the United States of America

Allow for the peaceful withdrawal of Ohio from the United States of America such that it becomes its own free nation.

Ohio became the 17th state admitted to the Union in 1803 and it presently has a population and economy larger than that of Switzerland.

John F Kennedy once stated "those who make peaceful revolution impossible make violent revolution inevitable" and in that spirit it is just and proper that the opportunity for peaceful political change be given to the citizens of the states.

It would be a crime against the people of any state to hold them, against their will, in a Union that they desire to leave.

Ohio can stand on its own as a free and independent nation, separate from the United States of America, while remaining on friendly terms with the United States of America.

Ohio's right to leave the Union should be recognized and it should be allowed to peacefully withdraw from the USA.

Any one signing a petition to Secede should be deported to any country that does not possess the great freedoms we have in this Country.
These petitions are instigated by a extreme right wing group of racists with a warped sense of entitlement. They feel only white, christian, land owners have any rights. Any American receiving Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, unemployment, food stamps, V.A. benefits or help in any way, regardless of the amount of money and service they have paid in the past are not entitled to those benefits. Any person that can think for themselves without the help of some right wing blowhard would not be welcomed in the land of a secessionist. Only those of limited thinking need apply.

There would not even be a United States if the colonies hadn't seceded from Great Britain. There was a long list of abuses perpetrated by the British crown against the people that was given in the Declaration of Independence as a reason for this secession. Most of these reasons have been matched or exceeded by our current federal government. This is not a knee jerk reaction to recent events, but it is a well thought out proposition. Time and time again, we have redress for our legitimate grievances. But we have only received even more violations of our God given and constitutionally guaranteed rights. The 10th Amendment guarantees that states retain all powers not delegated to the federal government by the Constitution. Thus, the federal government has no right to force us to participate in Social Security, Medicare or any other such socialist program. "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely." The more we allow the federal government to keep expanding beyond its proper bounds the more power is concentrated in Washington and thus the more corrupted it becomes. We believe that it has reached the point that the corruption cannot be rooted out using the current system. We have reached the point of no return. This has nothing to do with racism or denying rights based on religion. You give no evidence to back such a claim. The federal government is just as capable of being bigoted as any state or local government could be.

As for the comment about getting a job and paying taxes, I do these things. As long as the current system is in place I believe in conscientiously obeying the law. I have many posts on this blog about how we should pay our taxes, including income taxes. But that doesn't mean that I believe that our federal government isn't hopelessly corrupt or hasn't outlived its usefulness. Sooner or later the system is going collapse anyway. It is obvious that other countries are not going to keep lending us money forever.
