Insulting My Intelligence

I went to see the movie EXPELLED on its opening day at one of the Carmike Cinemas. The facility was very clean and attractive. The employees were courteous. Ten dollars for a bag of popcorn and a drink seemed excessive. I called ahead and was informed that the show started at 9:10 pm. Upon buying tickets I was informed that the show started at 10:05. My friends and I left and came back later about 20 minutes before the film was to run. Advertisements were shown and the most annoying was a series of short “Go Green” infomercials. This was pure extreme environmentalist propaganda, which insulted my intelligence.

Apparently Carmike has a number of theaters across the country. This false environmenalism exposes thousands of people to lies. Warning: Don't come too early to any movie you want to see at a Carmike Cinema, otherwise you will be subject to intense subversive advertisement.

Carmike Cinemas is a premier motion picture exhibitor, operating 2,229 screens in 291 theatres in 36 states. Carmike targets small to mid-sized communities with populations ranging from 50,000 to 250,000 where the company is the sole exhibitor for those markets. Carmike is the "hometown hero" for moviegoers across America.

Carbon was portrayed as black and ugly; black balloons, black smoke, and elephants. While coal, coke, and graphite is black remember that a diamond is 100% carbon and not black. The reference is to carbon, when what they are attacking is carbon dioxide. In its solid state as dry ice it is white and gives off a white vapor. When dissipated into the air and at room temperature it is clear. Carbon dioxide is not what it was portrayed to be.

In one of the Go Green infomercials we are shown black balloons rising into the air. Computer graphics can make anything appear to rise but carbon dioxide in a balloon will not rise into the air. It is heavier than air. Black smoke from stacks comes from particulates rising. Carbon dioxide is a gas and not a particulate. The smoke stacks I have observed in the USA produce white water vapor. Elephants falling on cars are likened to carbon dioxide. An elephant is not a gas and carbon dioxide is not a white elephant; it does not smash cars. In this carbon dioxide is shown as both lighter than air and heavier than air. The MacArthur Foundation, which paid for these ads lacks good judgment.

An alternative source of energy was recommended and windmills were shown as a possible solution. Windmills can only produce a small fraction of the energy required for the American society to function. The electrical energy producing stations must rely on only a few sources; hydroelectric, gas, oil, coal, and nuclear energy and perhaps geothermal. Energy options are few.

Carbon dioxide does not retain heat in the atmosphere. In a greenhouse the glass pane allows heat to go through it. Water vapor condenses on the pane and reflects heat back into the greenhouse. You may notice the weather reporter on the news say that the overnight temperature will be warmer due to a cloud cover. There is a difference in temperature at night depending on having clear skies or cloud cover. Each night the earth radiates back into space the same amount of radiation it received from the sun the day before.

Talk is made of saving the planet. This is nonsense. The earth does not need to be saved. It will be destroyed when God is ready. It is people who need saving. You and everyone else will exist forever with God, happy, or in the Lake of Fire, tormented. If you like you can read about it for yourself in Revelation 20:15 and 21:1.

To escape the Lake of Fire you need to receive Jesus into your heart. If you like you can pray, “Lord Jesus Christ forgive me of my sin and come into my heart.”

Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed (2008)

Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed, the movie, opened yesterday across America. I watched the last showing of the day with friends in Findley, Ohio. It was an extremely thoughtful and thought-provoking film. It was a documentary in format. It captured both comedian Ben Stein’s striking search for truth and academic and scientific freedom. It also documented big science, the main stream media, government agencies, and the academia elites' frightening fear of the truth on this nation’s campuses and research labs. These two opposing worldviews or approaches served as themes, central core or message of the movie.

Expelled is essentially an exposé on the current state of affairs of the lack of academic freedom and the pronounced bias that is rampant in science, schools and government agencies in 2008. Political correctness trumps the uninhibited and open pursuit of the truth in many if not all disciplines, especially “science.”

What is happening in America has happened elsewhere, Nazi Germany and Stalin’s Soviet Union are two forerunners. Silencing and rejecting the truth despite the facts are the modus operandi. Here are some key questions illustrative of the dilemma we are faced with today. Why can’t there be an open dialogue regarding the origin of life? Why can’t the topic of intelligent design be even broached without danger of loss of one’s job, tenure and/or reputation? Evolution is a mere theory and a very flawed one at that, so why must it be the foundation for all scientific research and academic thought? Why would more credence be given to an extraterrestrial life forms birthing life on earth than recognition of a Creator?

Some of these questions are raised in this serious study of the sad state of affairs in so-called science and academia today. The movie movingly portrays the complicity of the academia, the media and the courts in establishing and supporting the current severe academic restrictions on thought and expression. Our colleges are gulags instead of the freedom factories, which they deceptively tout themselves to be. This imprisonment and censorship of ideas may be one of the reasons for our second-class status when it comes to much of what is pawned off as “education” today.

Expelled does make you think. It compares this issue of what is going on in our schools and institutions to the restrictions and invisible shackles placed on blacks which necessitated and birthed the civil rights movement. Blacks were not free to pursue their dreams. Likewise, today, scientists, professors and teachers are not free to pursue certain politically incorrect avenues of study or research. They are actually censored and discriminated against when they do pursue their dreams or the truth. Expelled concludes that the issue of present-day academic imprisonment is also a matter of rights and freedom that now needs to also be overcome.

RATING

Expelled has pure entertainment value. However, it is not a feel-good, brainless feature. It also dares to educate the viewer to one of the basic hindrances to the pursuit of excellence and truth in America. It shows the damage that the institutionalization of intellectual dishonesty and political correctness causes at the expense of a free and open pursuit of the truth has on America.

I rate the movie a ***** out of *****. It is an honest, professional, sincere, accurate and well-documented pursuit of the truth. Expelled does a fine job presenting both sides of this debate. It is meant to inform and to challenge the thinking of every American who loves this country and is interested in preserving its greatness, which is embodied in its freedoms. I urge you to see this outstanding movie, bring your family and friends to it, and/or tell your friends about it.

The Dark Side of Gun Control

Friend of this blog, T.D., forwarded to us the following content about the results of foolish gun laws in another western country. Note that the opposite of what was hoped to be accomplished was actually accomplished. This is a warning that the forces behind gun control measures could achieve the same suboptimal results in the U.S.A. if they get their way.

Australian Gun Law Update

Here's a thought to warm some of your hearts...

From: Ed Chenel, A police officer in Australia

Hi Yanks, I thought you all would like to see the real figures from Down Under.

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced
by a new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by our own government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million dollars.

The first year results are now in:

Australia-wide, homicides are up 6.2 percent,
Australia-wide, assaults are up 9.6 percent;
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!

In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent. (Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the criminals did not and criminals still possess their guns!)

While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since the criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.

There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the elderly, while the resident is at home.

Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety has decreased, after such monumental effort and expense was expended in 'successfully ridding Australian society of guns.' You won't see this on the American evening news or hear your governor or members of the State Assembly disseminating this information.

The Australian experience speaks for itself. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws affect only the law-abiding citizens.

Take note Americans, before it's too late!

BE A MEMBER . . . OF THE VOCAL MINORITY WHO WON'T LET THIS HAPPEN IN THE U.S.A.

We need to hold accountable any legislator or candidate for office who seeks to disarm us and who desires to take away our right to bear arms. The above presentation is proof that gun control is primarily a foolish approach to pursue and is hurtful to the society on a whole.

Dick Cheney’s Comedy Act

Vice President Dick Cheney spoke at the annual Radio and Television Correspondents dinner Wednesday evening. NewsBusted posted a YouTube video, which is embedded below. It highlights some of his best lines. I like his self-deprecating and sarcastic sense of humor.

Here a few of the highlights that impressed me most:

*** You all know how to make a guy feel welcomed. Obviously, you're not the kind to look down on a bitter man who clings to his guns. . .

*** It is exciting when the Pope comes to town and I am modest enough to realize that all of you would rather see the Pope than me. Instead of the successor to St. Peter, you're stuck with me, the successor to St. Al. Speaking of Vice President Gore, I am sorry to relate that he is a little bit sore at me. He is convinced that on global warming I just don’t get it. But lately with every passing day the evidence has been catching my attention. I have no doubt, none at all that we are in the midst of global warming, or as I prefer to call it – SPRING! And, I don't want to sound like an alarmist, but it's going to get a lot warmer before it gets cooler.

*** … It could also be that by sending me here the President is trying to soften up my image. After all these years, all the time we have spent together, he persists in thinking I come across as a cold, forbiddeing, even frightening man. But the President is not alone even my wife seems to think my image needs polishing. At breakfast today, I asked Lynn if deep down it bugs her that people have taken to calling me Darth Vader. She said not at all. It humanizes you. . .

.
*** But since it is our last time together at this dinner, I think it is enough to leave you with the words I once addressed to Senator Pat Leahy . . . go straight home, have a good night and thank you very much.

Republicrat Alternatives, part 6

Here is another presidential candidate for you to consider if you are as displeased as I am with Hillary, Obama, and McCain.

Donald Grundman believes that all abortions should be illegal. Grundman did vote in favor of disaffiliating the Nevada Independent Party from the Constitution Party after they ran candidates who believed that abortion should be legal in cases of rape and incest.

He believes that the gay agenda, anti-discimination laws, and gay marriage are wrong. On the Project Vote Smart candidate survey he said he supports a constitutional amendment to define marriage as between a man and a woman. But this was a 2006 survey and from what he says on his website, I think he has changed his position on the Federal Marriage Amendment, saying that it is not the right way to go about stopping gay marriage.

He supports the right of citizens to keep and bear arms.

He would eliminate education from the federal budget. He would eliminate the Department of Education, promote homeschooling and return control of public schools to state and local governments.

He would eliminate inheritance taxes. He would increase alcohol, tobacco, and corporate taxes.

He said he would “begin [a] gradual elimination of Social Security System.”

Concerning vaccines he says:

Ban all vaccinations of children until complete and verified safety and effectiveness studies have been performed. Initiate studies of the connection between vaccination and long-term disease development.

His top three priorities are:

1. Eliminate Federal Reserve system;
2. Eliminate IRS
3. Repeal NAFTA (the North American Fraud and Theft Agreement), CAFTA (the Central American Freedom Threat Arrangement), and GATT (the Global Agreement on Treason and Tyranny).

Grundman is also against the U.S. membership in the WTO (the World Treachery Organization) and believes that NATO should be dismantled. He believes that the U.S. should get out of the U.N. He believes that global warming is a fraud and a hoax.

Grundman has a protectionist philosophy. This means that he is in favor of high tariffs on imports into the United States, not just for the purpose of raising federal revenues (as opposed to the IRS), but for the purpose of discouraging purchases of foreign goods so as to protect the jobs (especially manufacturing) of American workers. He believes that the tariff rates should partially be tied to a nation’s human rights record. He believes that manufacturing corporations should face severe tax penalties for outsourcing American jobs.

He would stop all immigration at this time, deport all illegal aliens, and seal the Mexican border.

He believes that the going to war in Iraq was wrong. He believes that the United States should begin a phased withdraw its troops from Iraq, but the Iraq government must be stabilized first. He believes that the United States should use military force to dismantle the North Korean nuclear weapons program, but not remove the North Korean government from power. Grundman answered “yes” to this question: “Do you support a policy of pre-emptive military strikes against countries deemed to be a threat to U.S. national security?”

Typical of Constitution and Libertarian Party candidates, Grundman is a civil libertarian. This means he is concerned with people’s rights against government intrusions with respect to illegal searches and seizures, domestic spying, and the right to a fair trial (by jury). He would repeal the Patriot Act.

In conclusion, I don’t like how he answered the question about pre-emptive strikes and I don’t think we can ever stabilize the Iraq government. But this was stated on a 2006 candidate survey, and he may have changed his position since then. Out of all the third party candidates that I have written about in this series, what Grundman says is just about the closest to what I believe.

American Exceptionalism Honored by Pope & Presdient

I just had a few minutes to listen to the Rush Limbaugh radio show today. He was pumped up at what the President and what the Pope had to say today about America. Below are a few excerpts from their speeches. I highlighted some of the outstanding thoughts that these two leaders shared today.

Rush used the term, “American Exceptionalism,” which Wikipedia defines as, “the belief that the U.S. differs qualitatively from other developed nations, because of its national credo, historical evolution, or distinctive political and religious institutions.”

COMMON GROUND

According to
MyWayNews, “Bush and Benedict share much common ground, particularly in opposing abortion, gay marriage and embryonic stem cell research.” These are issues are of preeminent importance to the continued existence of a civilized society. They also differ on a number of issues including the death penalty, immigration, the war in Iraq, but all of these are of secondary importance.

ATTACKING GOD

The White House arranged for Soprano Kathleen Battle to sing "The Lord's Prayer" which it defended as appropriate despite what one news source referred to as “the overt insertion of religion into a public event," to which I reply, “hogwash.” The second half of the first amendment involves the right to express ones religion. There is no “separation of church and state” or “separation of God from state,” anywhere in the U.S. Constitution. It is prefabricated lie manifest by the liberal elite and activist judges.
.

. . . Most of all, Holy Father, you will find in America people whose hearts are open to your message of hope. And America and the world need this message. In a world where some invoke the name of God to justify acts of terror and murder and hate, we need your message that "God is love." And embracing this love is the surest way to save men from "falling prey to the teaching of fanaticism and terrorism."

In a world where some treat life as something to be debased and discarded, we need your message that all human life is sacred, and that "each of us is willed, each of us is loved" and your message that "each of us is willed, each of us is loved, and each of us is necessary."

In a world where some no longer believe that we can
distinguish between simple right and wrong, we need your message to reject this "dictatorship of relativism," and embrace a culture of justice and truth.

In a world where some see freedom as simply the right to do as they wish, we need your message that true liberty requires us to live our freedom not just for ourselves, but "in a spirit of mutual support. . . "

POPE BENEDICT'S REMARKS

“…From the dawn of the Republic, America's quest for freedom has been guided by the conviction that the principles governing political and social life are intimately linked to a moral order based on the dominion of God the Creator. The framers of this nation's founding documents drew upon this conviction when they proclaimed the self evident truth that all men are created equal and endowed with inalienable rights grounded in the laws of nature and of nature's God.

The course of American history demonstrates the difficulties, the struggles, and the great intellectual and moral resolve which were demanded to shape a society which faithfully embodied these noble principles. In that process, which forged the soul of the nation, religious beliefs were a constant inspiration and driving force, as for example in the struggle against slavery and in the civil rights movement. In our time, too, particularly in moments of crisis,Americans continue to find their strength in a commitment to this patrimony of shared ideas and aspirations. . .

Freedom is not only a gift, but also a summons to personal responsibility. Americans know this from experience - almost every town in this country has its monuments honoring those who sacrificed their lives in defense of freedom, both at home and abroad.
The preservation of freedom calls for the cultivation of virtue, self-discipline, sacrifice for the common good, and a sense of responsibility towards the less fortunate. It also demands the courage to engage in civic life and to bring one's deepest beliefs and values to reasoned public debate. . .

. . . In reflecting on the spiritual victory of freedom over totalitarianism in his (Pope John-Paul) native Poland and in Eastern Europe, he reminded us that history shows time and again that "in a world without truth, freedom loses its foundation," and a democracy without values can lose its very soul. Those prophetic words in some sense echo the conviction of President Washington, expressed in his Farewell Address, that religion and morality represent "indispensable supports" of political prosperity. . .

Why Senator Barack Hussein Obama is a Marxist

The following article is posted with permission of the author, Bill Wilson, who is a no-nonsense journalist who poignantly analyzes the news in a way you don’t get on the main stream media. Mr. Wilson reports on Isreal and the fulfillment of end time prophecy and the decline of American culture. In the article below I highlighted (bold letters) some of the words of the story for emphasis.

Obama Remarks Give Keen Insight To His Marxist Philosophy

By Bill Wilson, Daily Jot News Service Senior Analyst
WASH—Apr 15—DJNS-- Democratic Presidential candidate B. Hussein Obama's remarks about Americans being bitter and clinging to their beliefs regarding religion, guns, anti-free trade and anti-immigration have been characterized as "out of touch", "condescending", "patronizing," and "elitist." While all these may well be true, Obama's remarks encapsulate his political philosophy which are against the Constitution of the United States and are steeped in Marxism and communism. Obama said of small town Pennsylvania voters: "Its not surprising then that they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

Let's break this down. Obama is saying that when economic times are rough middle class Americans get bitter and cling to guns or religion. The First Amendment to the Constitution guarantees religious freedom. The Second Amendment guarantees the right to bear arms. Further, he says these bitter middle class Americans have "antipathy" against people who are not like them. One definition of antipathy is "an instinctive contrariety". American just might have an instinctive contrariety to the government not protecting the borders of the United States. And they may just have an anti-trade sentiment because the government is not protecting America's job base. These are Constitutional national security issues.

In Obama's book "Dreams from my Father", Obama writes of his mentor "Frank." Frank has been identified as Frank Marshall Davis, an active member of the communist party in Hawaii who helped shape the young Obama's political views. Accuracy in Media (AIM) reports that Obama, himself, likens the intimate influence of Frank Marshall Davis on his life as that of a father. AIM writes that Frank Chapman, a Communist Party USA supporter, wrote of Obama to the party newspaper after Obama's Iowa caucus victory: "Obama's victory was more than a progressive move; it was a dialectical leap ushering in a qualitatively new era of struggle.'

The communist Chapman continued about Obama, "Marx once compared revolutionary struggle with the work of the mole, who sometimes burrows so far beneath the ground that he leaves no trace of his movement on the surface. This (Obama) is the old revolutionary 'mole,' not only showing his traces on the surface but also breaking through." Communism and Islamism are the antithesis of Judaism and Christianity. The Apostle Paul warned of such in the latter days in 2 Timothy 3:13, "But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived." Can one man or one woman destroy the covenant of a nation with God? Deceived Americans rush to discover.

Have a Blessed and Powerful Day!

Is Obama a Fake Christian?

I came across this interesting poll today on AOL.com.

Andrew Sullivan on the Daily Dish Blog at the Atlantic.com asked …
Is Obama a Fake Christian?
___ Yes
___ No
___ Not Sure

Interestingly, Andrew Sullivan titles his article, which accompanies the poll, "Now He's A Godless Commie." He asks the question sarcastically and facetiously, but really I think that it is a very accurate and serious statement.
In this unscientific poll 6 out of 10 people answered the question in the affirmative. There were almost 200,000 people voting.

Here is the comment that I submitted along with my vote.

Judging by his actions, his fruit, yes, Senator Obama is a fake Christian as opposed to a true or biblical Christian. The difference between the two is not a nuance, but a chasm. Man-centered is on one side and God-centered is the other side of the Christian dichotomy.

Obama reinforced the fact that he is on the wrong side at the so-called Compassion Forum over the weekend saying out of one side of his mouth that God created the universe and on the other that he believes in evolution and does not believe that God directly created man unique from the animals as delineated in the biblical text. He referred to the biblical creation account found in the book of Genesis as “a story.” In other words, he does not believe the literal account of creation. Why am I not surprised?

Obama is a blind man leading the blind. He has to be, sitting for twenty years under the teaching of a racist and America-hating "cleric" Jeremiah Wright and associating with other scurrilous people like the white collar criminal Mr. Antoin "Tony" Rezko and the far-left Weatherman terrorist William Ayres, reveals his heart and character. A man is known by the company he keeps. I’d conclude Senator Obama keeps some very bad company.

I really like what Rob wrote in SayAnythingBlog:

Many have tried to dismiss Barack Obama’s connections to far-left Weathermen terrorists Willliam Ayres and Bernadine Dohrn as saying that it was a one-time meeting which took place more than a decade ago. But it turns out that it was more than one time, and has happened a lot more recently than 1995.

I don’t think Obama gets to shrug this one off. Anyone involved in politics, particularly in the Chicago area, knows who William Ayres and Bernadette Dohrn are and agreeing to appear with them at events is a tacit endorsement of their radical politics. A politician would not appear in public with a notorious anti-Semite and holocaust denier like David Duke, so why would it be any better to appear in public with people who feel that bombs and violence are a proper form of political discourse?

There’s no excuse for this. Either Obama was unbelievably naive as to who these people are or he knew who they are and didn’t care.

Neither option looks good for Obama who himself is no mainstream politician but rather
the farthest left of all US Senators.

It's Open Season on Babies

I look around and see TV phenom Oprah Winfrey's outcry over some dogs being mistreated in so-called puppy mills, and I see the outrage and anger over some overpaid NFL superstar’s mistreatment and of abuse dogs. As shameful and inhumane as those things are, I find it much more outrageous, grave and insidious that human beings are being systematically slaughtered in abortion mills at a rate of 4,000 per day and there is nary a peep from the majority of our complacent citizenry or a complicit liberal media. But then that is to be expected. America used to value human beings above all life, except of course for the scandalous mistreatment of slaves by some in our nation’s early history and the subsequent racial discrimination by others.

But overall America has a good record in regard to the sanctity of life, at least until 1973 when the infamous Roe v. Wade ruled a perpetual open season on babies. Where there are no limits on killing babies, however, there is on killing deer. Something is terribly wrong with this picture. An immoral secular-humanist worldview has crept in and captured the soul of this once great nation and has replace a God-centered, God-honoring worldview.
In other words at this moment in America’s history we value human life less than we value animal life. Dogs and deer rate higher than human beings! This is unbelievable.

Shining God's Light on the Koran

This article is part of an on-going series contrasting the Judeo-Christian Bible with the Koran on a variety of topics. Previous articles include: "Was Abraham a Jew or a Christian?", Idolatry 101, 102, 103, Oneness, Unbelievers, God's Character, The Resurrection, The Proclamation, The Judgment, The Creation of Man, The Creation of Woman, and The Fall of Man: Part 1-The Command, Part 2 – The Disobedience, Part 3 – The Consequence, Part 4 – Its Ramification, Right Dividing (Interpreting) the Word – Part I, Part II Part III, Mortality versus Immortality, Worship, Adam or Jesus?, God Begat a Son, the Crucifixion and the Resurrection and Does God Love the Wicked?

Misquoting Scripture, Deliberate Deception

When quoting someone it is good to get the quote correct or the meaning of the original statement will be misunderstood. In the Koran there is a quote of Psalm 37:29. Compare the two, one is the original passage found in the Bible, and the quote of that verse as found in the Koran.

THE KORANIC AND BIBLICAL ACCOUNTS

The writers of the Koran take credit for writing Psalms but misquote it when quoting it.

“We wrote in the Psalms after the Torah was revealed: ‘The righteous among My servants shall inherit the earth.’ That is an admonition to those who serve US.” (Koran p 233,234 par 21:105, 21:106)

“The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein forever.” (Psalm 37:29)

COMMENTARY

The terms “earth” and “land” are synonyms so there is no problem with interchanging those terms. However, “Among My servants,’” is not in the original text of the book of Psalms and is therefore an addition to the text. This violates a basic principle in Proverbs, “Every word of God is pure: … Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.” (Proverbs 30:5a, 6) The phrase was inserted into the Koranic passage to coerce service from followers of the god of the Koran as revealed through the leaders of Islam. This would include Muhammad and those who succeeded him. The Koran admits this in stating, “That is an admonition to those who serve US.”

The Holy Bible in Psalm 37:29, on the other hand, is calling for the people to be righteous rather than engage in wickedness. It is not coercing service to religious leaders. The term, “The righteous among My servants,” implies there are unrighteous servants of the god of the Koran as well as righteous. This deception can be compared with how the serpent deceived Eve in the Garden of Eden.

The serpent said to Eve, “Yea, hath God said, You shall not eat of every tree of the garden?” (Genesis 3:1) Compare this with what God actually said, “Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” (Genesis 2:16,17) Notice that God says of every tree they may freely eat except one, which is the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Satan through the serpent puts it in the negative when he says, “You shall not eat of every tree of the garden.” This makes God look stingy while his original statement was gracious and generous. While the two statements are similar they are not the same. The serpent handled God’s word deceitfully. This set up Eve for the full blown lie, “You shall not surely die (Genesis 3:4).” Eve relied on her own understanding, instead of simply obeying God she ate of the forbidden fruit. That day she died, which means that she became separated from God, losing her fellowship with God.

Proverbs 3:5 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not on your own understanding.” Are you trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ or leaning on your own understanding? You can invite Jesus into your heart today. A sample payer is, “Lord Jesus Christ forgive me of my sin and come into my heart.”

Two Pro-Life Ballot Initiatives

Protecting life is the premier issue facing America today. The Democrat Party and even some in the Republican Party have sold out to the forces of pro-death, the gang who believes that women have the right to kill their babies for any reason. This is wrong. Protecting and preserving life transcends being a political issue, it is primarily a moral issue. Any nation that permits the sacrifice of their children to the god of lust and selfishness is indeed a nation that has become immoral.

There are valiant efforts taking place in two states, Colorado and South Dakota, to do something to reverse disrespect for the sanctity of life which is rampant in America today. In these two states pro-life defenders are seeking to get the life issue on the ballot to allow the people a voice for the babies, where their elected leaders and appointed judges have miserably failed to uphold the U.S. Constitution and the decency of this once great nation.

IN COLORADO

Thursday, David Bereit, who is the National Campaign Director of 40 Days for Life, sent me the following update which offers some very encouraging news regarding the effort to protect the unborn from the bloody hands of the abortionist. Mr. Bereit writes that in the state of Colorado "momentum continues to build around a major petition drive for a ballot initiative that will add 14 simple words to the state constitution: "The term 'Person' or 'Persons' shall include any human from the time of fertilization." These words will recognize the personhood of children in the womb, effectively protecting them from abortion.” This is indeed good news.

IN SOUTH DAKOTA

Progress is also being made in South Dakota where Mr. Bereit reported that a petition drive began last Fall in South Dakota by some pro-life leaders to place a pro-life initiative on the ballot this fall that would ban nearly all abortions in the state. Bereit wrote, "The Washington Post is now reporting that South Dakotans turned in THREE TIMES the required number of signatures, assuring that the measure will be on the ballot for voters to decide."

Speaking in America: Make it English-Only

We are!

Why do Americans have
to press 1 for English
to call their government?
.
Why do we have to pay for interpreters for those
who refuse to learn English?

That's what Executive Order 13166 requires - at
a cost of $billions to taxpayers.

Help us repeal it!

According to ProEnglish, "U.S. Senator Elizabeth Dole (R-NC) is trying to do something about it.

"She has introduced a bill, S. 2719, to repeal Presidential Executive Order 13166, which forces government offices and federal contractors to provide services in multiple languages.

"The order – which was never debated or approved by Congress -- is an attempt by government bureaucrats to force multilingualism on the American people without their consent.

"The Office of Management and Budget estimates it already costs taxpayers billions of dollars annually. When fully implemented, the cost will be astronomical.

'For example doctors and hospitals participating in Medicare face government prosecution if they fail to provide interpreters for non-English speaking patients free of charge. The order also covers state and local government agencies.

"The American people or their elected representatives never voted to transform the United States into a multicultural ‘Tower of Babel.’"

Republicrat Alternatives, part 5

His spelling and grammar are atrocious. Most noticeable is his overuse of the apostrophe. He claims that his spellchecker isn’t working.

He is a retired Army Lieutenant Colonial with over 32 years of military service. He served in two wars (Vietnam and Iraq), but thinks that it was wrong for the U.S. to fight these wars. He is “Mad” Max Rieske and he is running for president.

He likes Clearance Thomas and would promote him to Chief Justice if given the opportunity. He says, “I will appoint to that high office judges who know & believe in the United States Constitution; and its limits put on the Federal Government; States Rights; and the emphasis in the Bill of Rights on Individual American Rights.”

He believes that the Federal government should not get involved in abortion legislation, right to die cases, or embryonic stem cell research legislation. “Keep mich law on abortion as they are now,” he said on the project vote smart survey. He did not check the box next to the statement “Abortions should always be illegal.” He also did not check the box next to the question: “Legalize physician-assisted suicide in Michigan” on the same survey. He believes that anyone who commits suicide is going to hell. He would legalize marijuana.

As a lifelong member of the NRA, he supports the right to bear arms. He says, “I will do away with 85% of our Federal gun laws.” (Why not all?)

Here is what he says about gays in the military:

It’s up to Congress to change ‘it’s’ current ‘gay’ policy through Congressional legislation. The President only enforces what Congress legislates; Having said that, I will see to it that they are not pro-actively hunted down, and hounded out of military service as long as they are not open and offensive; and conduct themselves in a professional manner. They took an extraordinary, patriotic step to enlist and serve our country and should be treated with dignity and respect; once they have been identified as being guy in the military, I as Commander in Chief, will see to it that those leaving with 10 to 15 years of military service are treated properly, and receive some kind of reduced pension or buy out for their years of military service. This goes for ‘straights’ as well.”

While a resident of Michigan he said that his state should not recognize same sex civil unions and that Michigan should restrict marriage to a union only between a man and a woman.

He is in favor of repealing the 16th amendment and abolishing the IRS. Rieske also says we need to stop bailing out corporations and banks that make bad loans.

He says, “...reduce the Federal Department of Education by 80%.” (Why not abolish it entirely?) He supports displaying the Ten Commandments, teacher lead prayer in public schools, and abstinence only sexual education. He also says, “…teach more basic reading, math, and 'real' early American history; with the true hero George Washington; along with more on the Republic we have as per the US Constitution.”

He would put Social Security funds in a “lock box” not to be used for any other purpose. He would eliminate taxes on Social Security benefits.

He says that state governments should “press companies with 1,500 or more employees to provide their employees with quality family health insurance. Tax incentives, along with baulk drug buying power needs to be implemented at both the State & Federal level to help fascinate this vital need for American workers & families.”

Rieske thinks that canola oil and monosodium glutamate are unhealthy. He is calling for Federal oversight of “franken-foods”.

Rieske believes that global warming is a serious concern, but does not say exactly what he would do about it. He does sayMake those who [deleted expletive] all over our common environment pay for cleaning it up BEFORE use of tax dollars.”

Rieske believes that a 27.5% tariff on countries like China who use unfair currency manipulation (keeping the value of their currency artificially low to gain a price advantage over American goods), place high tariffs on American goods, engage in piracy, and violate their our labor laws. He would end “most favored nation” trade status with countries that have repressive governments.

He says:

I will normalize trade with Cuba in exchange for Cuba’s opening up its off shore oil fields to American companies and the return or re-imbursement dollar for dollar of all confiscated American & Cuban-American properties; and this includes our former American oil refinery that was confiscated by Cuba when the Communist took power. There will however be no so-called most favored trading status with Cuba until the Cuban people have free, fair & open elections.

A veteran of the Vietnam and Iraq wars, he believes that the Spanish American War, World Wars I & II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Kosovo, the Gulf War, and the War in Iraq were all wars that were set up by corrupt politicians to pay off their contributors in the Industrial/War Complex. Rieske is against the idea of going to war with Iran. He believes that both of the current wars (Iraq and Afghanistan) are unconstitutional because no official declaration of war was made. He is against the Patriot Act (both I and II).

He believes that children of immigrants should not automatically receive citizenship. He believes that illegal immigrants who break the law should be deported without any chance of appeal. He believes in ending dual citizenship. He believes that our borders should be secured by our military forces (instead of sending them to Iraq). He says that small zeppelin-type patrol balloons should be used to watch over our coasts and borders. He believes that the Mexico’s military is partly responsible for illegal immigration, drug smuggling, and assaults on U.S. border patrol agents. He wouldeliminate all illegal aliens from the [public school] system.”

Rieske believes that American Indians have been cheated. He would put a stop to this, but would increase [state] taxes on Indian casinos.

He says, “I will appoint Richard Gere and Steven Seagal as special U.S. diplomats to His Holiness, the Dalai Lama of Tibet, and his government-in-exile.
I don't see this candidate as being a Good Choice. He seems to take weak positions on issues that I care about. His exact position on abortion is uncertain to me. A vote for him would be Rieske…I mean risky.

Mad Max is unlikely to make it on the ballot in my home state. Since he was defeated in the American Independent Party (of California) primary, he probably won’t be the Constitution Party nominee. (The AIP of CA is the California’s Constitution Party affiliate.) But since the CP has been known to violate its own rules, nothing would surprise me. (The CP disaffiliated the Ohio Constitution Party after having passed a resolution to not allow such disaffiliations.)

Unlike the Libertarian Party, the CP seems secretive about who is really running for their presidential nominee. They have announced many candidates who I think are not really running like Jerome Corsi, Bob Smith, and Roy Moore. I think the CP keeps putting out these names even though they know they aren’t running just to attract attention. The Constitution Party convention is coming up in about two weeks.

Olympic Flame Throwers

"Olympic Flame" by Tab as found on GOPUSA.com

The Olympic Torch is having a tough time out there. Not as tough a time as any citizen of Red China who dares to disagree with their government.

August Rush (2007)

“The music is all around us all you have to do is listen.”
--- August Rush
The movie, August Rush, is the story of faith and hope. Evan Taylor is a 12 year old boy who had been given up for adoption at birth by his grandfather. His mother was a cellist in the Chicago Symphony, who met an Irish Rock and Roll band member and had a one night fling. Evan Taylor was the result of that one night stand. The movie is the story of a young man’s desire to know his parents. He was placed in an orphanage for most of his life, but he never gave up hope.

He inherited a love for music and sound from both of his parents. The music was hidden inside him and he could not express it. He was trapped in the boys home. He was picked on there. He had had enough and ran away. We was attracted to a young street musician who he followed “home”. It turned out home was an old abandoned theater, where the “Wizard,” played by an ear-ringed Robin Williams, manages a group of street kids, who played on the street for money. They all work for the Wizard.

For the first time in his life Evan found a way to express himself through playing the guitar. He had a real ear for music and learned quickly. However, the Wizard sees Evan or August as a golden goose, not a human being.

August Rush weaves an interesting story. It is a little bit unbelievable from the standpoint of how it ends, but it is still remarkable nonetheless. No matter how bleak and hopeless life may appear, there always is a glimmer of faith. That glimmer or faith is all that Evan Taylor or August Rush had.

The movie is a parable for life. We may all have difficulties and suffer the consequences of our actions and behaviors, but if we don’t give up God can use whatever situation in which we find ourselves. He works in and through the circumstances for good. Though this movie was not at all Christian, many underlying Christian principles could be seen at work. Selfless love, forgiveness, perseverance, hope, and courage . . . are among the Christian virtues that could be seen in the movie. Evan Taylor or August Rush demonstrates the love.
“Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
--- 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

RATING

The movie is a **** 1/2 out of ***** for the overall positive message it says about life, family and the contrast between good and evil, morality and immorality. It definitely has a pro-life message from the beginning of the movie to the end.

Absolute biblical truth is what the music symbolizes for me in the movie.

“The music is all around us all you have to do is listen.”

Problem: Overpopulated Earth Says Turner; Solution: Say Goodbye Ted

NewsBusters is a conservative news and comedy website. Their newest NewBusted episode includes the excerpt below. See right panel of this blog and click on the video to watch this 2-3 minute comedy YouTube video.

Ted Turner, like Algore, is an adherent of the the global warming hoax. See my recent two-part series (Global Warming: Hoax, Hype & Hidden Agenda, Part I and Part II) which addresses the subject of overpopulation, something environmental extremists contend contributes to the "problem" of man made "global warming." Man made global warming is a terrible lie being perpetrated by the likes of Gore and Turner.

“During a television interview with Charlie Rose, Ted Turner said the planet is being hurt by overpopulation.

“Okay, Ted, here’s a solution – you leave first.”
