New Age Hate, Part 2

As I stated in yesterday’s article, there is a battle brewing and major clash of worldviews and philosophies and values underway in America today. When all is said and done it is the principles and values of true, historic Christianity versus the New Age Movement. The source of the latter is the bowels of hell, the former originates from heaven above.

True, historic Christianity is much maligned and its vestiges are actively, both subtlety and obviously, being attacked on many fronts. Among the Christian icons being attacked are public acknowledgement of God, the true meaning of Christmas, the free expression of religion, silencing the church in the public square, attempting to thwart public prayer in Jesus’ name, allowing children to read the bible in school even during free time or non-teaching time. All of this is under the guise of not wanting to “offend” the 10-15% of atheists or unbelievers or believers in anti-Christian philosophers …

I recently heard over the internet an interview on the Worldview Weekend
website of author and speaker, Ron Carlson. The following is a transcribed excerpt of his recent comments.

NEW AGE MOVEMENT DISSECTED

“We have seen this major paradigm shift in Western culture . . . towards the acceptance of an Eastern and an Occultic worldview . . . in … (in His Word) … God says that all of these things spiritism, sorcery, witchcraft, Satanism, astrology all of these things are an abomination in the eyes of God, because they take focus away from the truth of who God is and His word. They claim that somehow your personal experience you can go within yourself and find your own divine light …

“…What we have in the whole New Age … movement … is literally becoming the dominate philosophy around the world. What it is doing it is that it’s bringing together three major philosophies that we see today to form what they say is a new holistic worldview, a new world religion for the 21st century.

“These three philosophies that make up the New Age include

1 --- Western Secular Evolutionary Humanism

“…the foundation is Western secular evolutionary humanism. The whole idea that there is no God, that man is simply an accident; man is a product of evolution … Ultimately man can become god himself …

2 --- Eastern Mysticism and Philosophy

“This Evolutionary humanism that came out of Western philosophy of the 19th century is now being mixed with Eastern … mysticism and philosophy … Since the 1970s this major paradigm shift in culture is the acceptance of Hinduism and Buddhism A recent article in Psychology Today over 35% of Americans now believe in reincarnation as the basis of afterlife. We see this incredible shift toward acceptance of Hinduism and Buddhism which says that we part of an impersonal universe. There is no personal Creator, we are simply one with nature, one with the universe. The earth is our mother and we have all evolved out of Mother Earth. This is why you see so many of the environmentalists and ecology movement heavily involved in the New Age Movement ...

3 --- The Occult

“… this evolutionary humanism, this Western philosophy is being is combined with Eastern philosophy and Hindu mysticism, is then being heavily mixed in the New Age Movement with the world of the occult … (The Bible says that) … in the last days many will follow after the doctrines of demons and deceitful spirits. This is why you see such a heavy emphasis in the New Age on spiritism, channeling, tapping into the spiritual world ... There is this belief in the New Age Movement that there is some cosmic force that we can tap into, and if I can only tap into the force through sorcery, through witchcraft through astrology. This is why the Harry Potter books, for example, which are so popular with children, are really opening people up to the whole world of the occult … This is being presented in our schools today as something good and something positive … Yet it is amazing to me that we won’t let them read the bible, but we won’t let them study the truth of God’s word but boy you can study the occult, you can read Harry Potter…”

CONCLUSION

The New Age Movement must do away with Christianity because it (the New Age Movement) is diametrically opposed to the existence of God. It logically must hate and resist and work to negate the influence of Christians and Christ in society in the world in order for the New Age Movement to thrive and reach its ultimate goals.

There is a battle raging for the hearts and minds of men, women and children. The mission of the A Good Choice weblog is to track, expose and resist this malignant pervasive false philosophy in America and the world today and to commend a conservative and Christ-centered biblically based alternative philosophy and worldview.
