Tale of Two Restrooms

The contrast in coverage by the mainstream media of two news stories both of which deal with the issue of homosexuality, one regarding Idaho's former Senator Larry Craig (see my previous article) and the other one about current Mayor Jim Naugle of Fort Lauderdale, Florida , is staggering. It is also the focus of this article.

CRAIG GOES TO POT

The press was quick and relentless in pursuing and squeezing every nuance of the alleged homosexual-related improprieties of the Senator from Idaho. In essence, they called him a hypocritical anti-homosexual impostor. They sprinted, not ran, with the story. Senator Craig may very well have been completely innocent, but that seemingly did not matter to the media. But because of his conservative, anti-homosexual stands in Congress he was presumed guilty. They saw an opportunity to attack an apparent weak link in the conservative movement and Republican party armor and when after it with a vengeance. Their tactic was "successful" if they wanted him off the public stage. He resigned.

The Craig story is a demonstration of the "unjust prosecution" of the homosexual community and cause by a hypocritical, perhaps closet, homosexual conservative. Here is a case of destroying a man's career. Here is a case of presumptive guilt for the sake of furthering the homosexual and liberal agenda.

NAUGLE ATTEMPTS TO CLEAN UP THE FILTH

Contrast the Craig story with Mayor Naugle, who courageously challenged the powerful moneyed homosexual activist minority. He declared war on the lewd, illegal, multiplied incidents of casual, anonymous, illegal homosexual sexual encounters in public places such as restrooms. He did so upon realization that 1 out of 5 homosexual men in his city had AIDS. Rightfully so, he felt this was an outrageous public health hazard. Well, he has received very little media coverage, despite the fact of his courageous confrontation with a powerful activist group.

Because criticism of homosexuality or homosexual (mis)behavior is not politically correct, the news media generally refuses to cover it. This is a story in itself. It clearly shows the bais of the mainstream media, which is pro-homosexual, pro-liberal, pro-socialist without any real care or concern for a real public health issue. Apparently to the main stream media, it is more important to remain a key cog in the "Axis of Idiots" than all else.
