Welcome to Craig's World

Cartoon Seen In Mansfield (Ohio) News Journal See Source

I began writing this article a few days ago, prior to Senator Larry Craig's imminent resignation. I am in the midst of completing a move to my new house this week.
.
On one (the left) hand there is great speculation and finger pointing regarding Senator Craig. I can here the Democrat Party strategist gleefully say here is yet another hypocritical closet homosexual Republican/Conservative, who while battling the homosexual agenda simultaneously participates in lewd homosexual behavior. On the opposing (the right) hand perhaps this is just a plot to get rid of another Congressman who dares to stand up to leftist cause, especially the intensely powerful moneyed minority pro-homosexual movement.
.
Some Republicans are calling on Senator Craig to resign based on his admission of alleged wrongdoing. His presence, they would most assuredly contend, will hurt their Party's chance in the 2008 elections, just as the leftist gang members exploited other wayward Republicans during the 2006 election.
.
The Democrats hope to make political points. They care nothing about the truth, only to strengthen their political position. They would like nothing better than to damage the credibility of the conservative cause by using the incident to try to broad-brush all GOP legislators or candidates, especially Conservatives as being unprincipled just as they (Democrats) themselves are. The vast majority Democrats Congress persons and many Republican Congress persons have proven themselves to stand for nothing except the gaining and retaining power and pushing their own selfish agenda, even if is not in the best interests of Americans or America as a whole.
.
If in fact Senator Craig is guilty, he should immediately resign. If not he should stay and fight both his fellow Republicans, who are calling for his resignation, and the Democrat, who hypocritically condemn his behavior.
.
Apparently the Senator felt it necessary to resign from the news I read today. It is to the credit of the somewhat more "moral" or "virtuous" GOP, whose leaders early called for his resignation. This is diametrically opposed to what the general approach of the liberal left, when one its own commits gross misconduct and break the law, such as the likes of Representatives Barney Frank or William Jefferson, who continue to serve as if nothing happened.
