Neanderthal Man Has "Evolved" Into a Modern Human

So, let me get this straight…

At first we were told that Neanderthal man was an irrefutable proof that humans evolved from apes because it was obviously a missing link, i.e., a separate species which was transitional between apes and humans. We were told that Cro-Magnon man was the next in line after Neanderthal in the evolutionary chain. Then, when (supposed) evidence sprung up that homo sapiens first evolved in Africa (the Neanderthals were only found in Europe) then the Neanderthals became an “evolutionary dead end”, i.e., they evolved from a common ancestor of humans but homo sapiens were “too different genetically” to have descended directly from them. Now they are saying that they mated with homo sapiens and that all of us (except Africans) are part Neanderthals! Though they are still hanging on to the idea that Neanderthals were less developed than modern humans (this could be because of genetic defects due to inbreeding and not because they were “less evolved”), they are basically admitting that Neanderthals are not a different species than humans, which is what the creationists have been saying all along!
