Occupy the Womb, not Occupy Wall Street!

It’s a baby, a growing and developing human being, that occupies the womb of every expectant mother, not a blob of tissue, not a malignant growth that needs to be excised for convenience. I received an interesting email today from the Susan B. Anthony (SBA) List. It was a request for support. However, in that request were some real thoughtful admonitions and considerations regarding abortion, the Pro-Life cause, and the present political environment.

This week on their lunch break, my staff carved a pumpkin for Halloween with the beautiful image of an unborn child in the womb and the phrase “Occupy the Womb.” It was a play on the recent political scene, but it served as a reminder:  the one thing that every one of us has in common is the time we spent in the womb of our mother.

As you know, today a mother’s womb is one of the most dangerous places in the world.

Each day in our country, four thousand unborn children have their lives violently ended in the womb. As if the loss of such innocent life wasn’t enough, the injustice doesn’t stop there. Mothers are wounded, and relationships are destroyed. …

THE ENEMIES OF LIFE AND LIBERTY

The insidious and increasing corrupt Planned Parenthood Federation of America is the biggest abortion provider in the United States. A large part of its business model has to do with making money on murdering babies. It desperately seeks Taxpayer funding to continue to subsidize its dastardly deeds. Money is fungible and while PPFA claims to use the funds it receives through Title X to ‘help’ women and families, those funds allow the abortion end of this vile business to continue to fester and thrive.  Buchanan highlights in her email the intimate, dangerous, and symbiotic relationship between the present Obama regime and the deceitful PPFA:

Just this past week, Planned Parenthood hired a new “Vice President for Public Policy and Government Relations,” Dana Singiser.

Guess where Dana worked prior to accepting the job with Planned Parenthood?  The Obama White House, where she worked as a special assistant to the President. The news outlet POLITICO reported that she was a “key part of the legislative team that helped pass the historic health care reform law,” also known as Obamacare, the largest expansion of abortion on-demand since Roe v. Wade.

You can bet that Dana will be calling up the President each and every time Planned Parenthood’s taxpayer funding is under attack. And you can bet that the President will be more than willing to do whatever he can to keep the blood money flowing.

This is just another reason why we’ve got to ensure that an authentic pro-life leader replaces him in 2012. …

THE IMPORTANCE OF THE 2012 ELECTION TO LIFE AND LIBERTY

Buchanan closes her email with a report of what has been happening in the United States Congress this past year and what the future holds for the cause of Life and Liberty. There has been some progress, yet there has been major 'progressive' or Democratic Party resistance. She also warns about the upcoming election in 2012:

Just this year, over $60 million in taxpayer funds has been stripped from Planned Parenthood at the state level. Furthermore, the House of Representatives has passed groundbreaking pro-life legislation, including the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act, the Protect Life Act, and the Pence Amendment to defund Planned Parenthood. And for the first time ever, Congress is investigating Planned Parenthood thanks to the courageous leadership of Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-FL).

But many of our pro-life advances are being thwarted by a pro-abortion Senate and the most radically pro-abortion President to ever occupy the White House. Your SBA List is working overtime to change this, and we need all hands on deck moving forward.

THE MIGHT OF WHAT'S RIGHT

We would be wise to listen to and to act upon the plea of Emily Buchanan and support the work of SBA List and similar organizations. We must elect a conservative President and many more conservative members of Congress, especially Senators.
