2007 World Congress of Families IV

The 4th World Congress of Families is being held this weekend, May 11-13, 2007, in Warsaw, Poland. This is pro-family event so you will not hear very much, if anything, about it in the main stream media. I heard a week or so ago that the European Union was incensed that Poland prohibited pro-homosexual material from being presented in its schools. I understand that the EU was to have sent an investigative team to Poland to fact-find and even bring the sovereign state of Poland to court over this matter. Now ain’t that a kick? How very PC it is of the EU. No, it actually stinks, PU!

According to OneNewsNow.com news item, “Dr. Allan Carlson is international secretary of the
World Congress of Families. He says there's a large clash of worldviews taking place in Europe. "Some people have written Europe off as lost to a post-family, secular, militantly left-wing worldview," Carlson notes. But he says, "Actually, Europe's not lost yet; there are a few champions of the family; some nations, particularly in Eastern Europe, are standing up against this new anti-family mindset.””

The World Congress of Families (WCF) was founded in 1997 by Dr. Allan Carlson (president of The Howard Center for Family, Religion & Society), when the first Congress convened in Prague. Since then, there have been Congresses in Geneva (1999) and Mexico City (2004). OneNewsNow.com reports that, “the World Congress of Families IV ---the largest international pro-family gathering -- opened in Warsaw's Palace of Culture and Science on Friday and continues through Sunday. More than 3,000 pro-family leaders, activists, scholars, and parliamentarians from over 60 countries are in attendance.”

During his opening remarks in Warsaw, Carlson presented the 2007 "Familias Award" to Polish President Lech Kaczynski, who has actively opposed the promotion of homosexual propaganda in Poland's schools and, when mayor of Warsaw, banned "[homosexual/lesbian] pride" parades.

Here are the remarks of another early conference speaker in discussing the sad state of affairs in regard to the family in Europe, "With these obstinate, anti-family policies adopted in recent years by the European Union, the end of European civilization can be calculated in years -- unless the Polish nation continue to lead [in] the opposite direction," (Christian) Vollmer (President of the Latin American Alliance for the Family) contended. It is only in the family, she added, where "necessary virtues" can be taught effectively.

This is probably the most significant meeting in years and it is shameful that few in America will be provided coverage unless they are plugged into the alternative media. OneNewsNow.com will be covering this event this weekend. See their website here for the latest information.
