Is Tolerance Good?

How much tolerance should we have? How much should we allow Satan to lead people into Hell? Should we give people a sugar-coated gospel and tolerate sinful behavior as long as the sinful person just keeps it to himself and doesn’t hurt anybody and we all live in peace? Should we not even speak out against the evil in the world so as not to offend?

Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. (I John 3:8) He came not to bring peace, but a sword. (Matthew 10:34) How can you have an attitude of tolerance when there is a battle to be fought with spiritual weapons? (Ephesians 6:12) We are to use these weapons to demolish strongholds of Satan, not just hope that they will come down on their own. (II Corinthians 10:4) Jesus overturned the tables of the moneychangers and called them thieves. (Matthew 21:12, 13) He called the Pharisees and the teachers of the law children of the devil (John 8:44) and a brood of vipers (Matthew 3:7, 12:34, 23:33). He said that they travel great distances to make a single convert and then make them twice as much a child of the devil as they were. (Matthew 23:15) Maybe Jesus could have benefited from taking a course on human relations. Not!

“Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.” Psalm 3:7

There's an old saying that goes something like this: "The only thing needed for evil men to succeed is for good men to stand by and do nothing". How true these words are.

You are straight to the point in your article. If we are complacent and tolerant of the ever-increasing moral decadence in our society without ever speaking out--then it soon becomes the norm.

The biblical principle is to "expel the wicked from among us". Modern man-made laws restrict us from carrying out these kinds of acts today. But we do have the greatest asset of all time at our disposal today for dealing with these problems. And that is PRAYER.

The power behind it is awesome, and the results are stellar. Too bad more people in America haven't discovered its awesome potential.

    Great article!!!
