The Creator Scoffed

“… As recent advances in cosmology suggest, the laws of gravity and quantum theory allow universes to appear spontaneously from nothing. Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing, why the universe exists, why we exist. It is not necessary to invoke God to light the blue touch paper (excite) and set the universe going…”

--- Stephen Hawking and Leonard Mlodinow, excerpt published in the weekend edition of the Wall Street Journal from an upcoming book, The Grand Design.

The WSJ article was provocatively titled, “Why God Did Not Create the Universe, There is a sound scientific explanation for the making of our world - no gods required.” Hawking is an atheist. To me it takes more ‘faith’ to believe in spontaneous creation, than it does in believing in a Creator. The complexity and the order in the universe and in the cell evidence a designer. I don’t care if the so-called scientist must resort to theories covering trillions of years to ‘prove’ their points. They are grasping at straws. Evidence is also found in the bible itself, which reveals this powerful fact penned by Paul in the book of Romans (chapter 1, verse 20):

For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they (Hawking, Hitchens, Darwin, et al) are without excuse.”
--- Paul, Romans 1:20

Anyone with eyes can see the evidence, but many turn a blind eye on the truth.
