My articles this week have emphasized the sanctity of human life in deference to the on-going controversy and angst surrounding the 34th anniversary of the notorious Roe v. Wade United States Supreme Court decision that declared it was okay to murder babies, who were still in the wombs of their potential “mothers”.
I read an encouraging and excellent article by OneNewsNow.com entitled, “Perspectives: California Congressman picks up pro-life mantle”, which was written by Joe Murray. Duncan Hunter, who is a potential Presidential candidate, reintroduced the “Right to Life Act”, which Murray says, “would establish an unborn child is a person at the moment of conception. Along with many other pro-life advocates, Hunter apparently sees the act as a constitutional way to overturn Roe without having to involve the Supreme Court, the president, or even the states.” This is the heart of the debate. The pro-death proponents insist that the baby is anything but . . . there is no denying the truth. A baby is still a baby, no matter how you might want to slice and dice him or her.
To me abortion is one of the two biggest blights on America today. Abortion stops beating human hearts and must end ASAP. 45-53+ million babies have been aborted since 1993 that is more than the population of the entire country of Canada! Untold millions more (200 million maybe) have been chemically aborted. 25% of all black babies are being exterminated by Planned Parenthood and other similar insidious organizations across America, while much of America waits for the Super Bowl, for the next Brad Pitt movie, for the next version of Nintendo or for Madonna’s next CD. Shame on US!
Another quote from Murray’s article, “In a statement made on the floor of the House, Duncan explained "one of most fascinating ... shows on television today, 'In the Womb' on the National Geographic Channel, provides viewers with amazingly-detailed footage of unborn children growing and interacting in utero." Such footage depicts the unborn child sucking a thumb, smiling, crying and responding to certain movements made by the mother. Under the constitutional framework established by Roe, this same child can be terminated with the legal blessing of the highest court in the nation.” Shame on US!
Furthermore, Murray goes on in his article, “"In 1973, the United States Supreme Court ... refused to determine when life begins and therefore found nothing to indicate that the unborn are persons protected by the 14th Amendment," stated Hunter. Hunter points out that "in the decision ... the Court did concede that, 'if the suggestion of personhood is established, the appellants' case, of course, collapses, for the fetus' right to life would be guaranteed specifically by the [14th] Amendment.'" It is here that Hunter sees the way out of Roe." The past 30 years with ultrasound equipment, with advances in treating and caring for prematurely born babies it is obvious that we are talking about a baby and not a fetus when we see the pictures inside the mother's womb. To deny life exists before birth is foolish. It is unscientific.
Murray’s concludes his article stating that to Hunter “the (Right to Life) Act is not about choice, but putting “our unborn children on the same legal standing as all other persons.” America, is that too much to ask? We give even the worst of society’s criminals’ rights to appeal after appeal, we assign them defenders at taxpayers’ expense, we provide medical care, food and shelter for those who have murdered, tortured, raped and killed women and children. We throw fits, protest and agonize at the cruelty to research animals and the treatment and slaughter of chickens and cows for food. Yet we continue to DENY the basic right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness AND we permit the slaughter INNOCENT baby after baby at the ungodly rate of 4,000 babies EVERY day! This must stop.
TAKE ACTION
Follow this bill, as I will through the House and Senate and on through to President Bush’s for his signature before he leaves office. What a legacy that would be!
Make A Good Choice and contact your congressman or congresswoman to request them to co-sponsor and work hard at passing this preeminently important bill. We must re-establish our moral footing and this would be a good first step.

We should pray for this legislation, but I don't think that it do any good to contact congressmen about this. If they fear God, then they will vote for it. If they hate God, then they won't vote for it. The only message they understand is the one sent at the ballotbox.
ReplyDeleteWhat people fail to realize or understand is, our rights are unalienable,i.e. God given.
ReplyDeleteThe constitution does nothing more than prohibit the government from infringing upon those rights.
When the Supreme Court placed restrictions on the 2nd Amendment in the 30's, Americans should have armed themselves and stormed the court and removed those "justices".
When the Supreme Court ruled against the 1st Amendment and removed God from the schools and the public square, Americans should have armed themselves and stormed the court and removed those "justices".
When the Supreme Court ruled against life in '73', Americans should have armed themselves and stormed the court and removed those "justices".
When the Supreme Court ruled against
the constitution and private property, Americans should have armed themselves and stormed the court and removed those "justices".
The fact is, we didn't do what we should have, to protect those rights.
Now we think we can rectify that by enshrining our rights in "man-made" laws as if our representatives will obey them anymore than they did our God-given rights.
All that accomplishes is to further enslave us by the state.
If we don't have the courage to stand up for what God gave us, why would we stand up for what man gave us?
Thanks for letting me rant.
Hello Lobo -
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments.
I agree with you on our inaction in regard to the courts taking our rights.
Do you have any solutions short of a revolution - spiritual and political?
Do you have any solutions short of a revolution - spiritual and political?
ReplyDeleteShort of revolution?... pray without ceasing.
Probably too late for political but...
Don't discount revolution. The 2nd amendment was placed in the BoR AFTER the war as protection from government tyranny.
The war was won by Bibles and guns. Most Christians carried and used those guns and carried them to Church.
AND the New Testament clearly says we will beat our plowshares into swords.
