Tonight, in about one-half hour President Bush will give a major address on his change of approach to the war on terror in Iraq. To me it is sort of ironic that many of the same people who are so against the war on terror are themselves terrorists when it comes to killing innocent, defenseless pre-born babies. Because life begins at conception, it is totally unethical and immoral to experiment with taking the life of an embryo and cloning it or otherwise killing it in the name of the unproven junk science of embryonic stem cell research (ESCR).
TRUE TERRORISTS
Tough it is futile and supposedly wrong to pursue the terrorists or their supporter, such as Saddam’s Iraq, yet it is okay to kill innocent human beings in the name of some hoped for or fanciful dream of magical cures of all of our current diseases from Alzheimer’s to Parkinson’s. The leftists and their anti-war supporters protest the war because of the deaths of innocent civilians, but they embrace the idea of killing human life for the sake of some unproven, hoped for future cure. Wrong.
Tomorrow, Thursday, January 11th, the U.S. House of Representatives will consider legislation, H.R.3, to expand the funding of embryonic stem cell research, which results in the destruction of human life. As I stated in my two most recent articles, this legislation is very wrong, just like cutting and running from the war on terror in Iraq is wrong.
TEST ONE
In a CNSNews.com article today titled, “Pro-Life Dems Face Tough Ride on Embryonic Research” Lori Lipman Brown, director of the humanist lobbying group Secular Coalition for America, is quoted as saying that she hoped pro-life lawmakers would not go so far as to want to protect what she described as "a cell." After all, don't others say that the soon-to-be-dead-baby is only a “tissue”, a “fetus”, “a cell”, a “mass of cells”? I guess it helps one to rationalize the killing? If you ask me, it’s mass confusion, it’s mass collusion or it’s mass delusion.
Life clearly begins at conception, no ifs, ands or buts, no need to defining the meaning of “is”.
It will be interesting to see how the so-called “Pro-life Democrats” will vote on the ESCR issue tomorrow. The article mentioned above noted that in November Reps. Heath Shuler of North Carolina, Joe Donnelly of Indiana, Brad Ellsworth of Indiana, Charlie Wilson of Ohio, and Chris Carney of Pennsylvania all were pro-life Democrats who campaigned against ESC research and were elected to Congress. Let’s hope and pray that they will make A Good Choice and vote against death by voting to defeat H.R. 3.
TAKE ACTION
Call your congressman or congresswoman at 202-224-3121 and ask him/her to stand up for the dignity of human life and vote NO on H.R.3 and reject government-sanctioned funded research allowing the destruction of human life..
