Georgia Prays for Rain, Literally

Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue (R-GA) and his wife, Mary

AP/AOL reports that the first couple of Georgia lead by example. Together they pray for rain for their drought-stricken state during a vigil Tuesday along with hundreds of like minded people. "It's time to appeal to Him who can and will make a difference," Governor Perdue declared.
.
How refreshing it is in this environment, which reeks so with political correctness, to see an elected official and leader of his people to take the initiative, ignoring sure criticism from the anti-God, anti-American crowd and do what is right and needful, to pray to the Almighty for help. The government has failed to help. Mother nature is home befuddled, watching a rerun of Algore's Inconvenient Truth. What a contrast to the recent scandals on both side of the political aisle, but especially the Republicans.
.
Governor Perdue's example, on the other hand, reminiscent of a time when this type of response was common, not the typical insane rejection of our Christian heritage seen so often today. Not so-called social and apostate "religious" self-proclaimed leaders for justice and truth, who in fact lead the sheep astray. I am speaking of irrelevant irreverent "Reverends" Barry Lynn of "Americans" for the Separation of Church and State or the shakedown artists Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton who all epitomize the sheer impotence of man's attempt to rule and live without God.
