L.O.S.T. Means Sovereignty Lost
All Will Be Lost With L.O.S.T.
It seems like many of the same people who were calling for Amnesty for illegal aliens are now advocating ratification of the Law of the Sea Treaty (L.O.S.T.), including our President, Senate Foreign Relation Committee leaders, both Republican and Democrat, Senators Richard Lugar (R-IN) and Joseph Biden (D-CN), respectively. Alarmingly, 70% or 12 of the 17 Senate Foreign Relations Committee members, who let this wretched rat of a treaty out of his hole and turned him loose on the Senate floor, also voted for preposterous Amnesty legislation including the failed D.R.E.A.M. amnesty legislation. It seems what alien armies and enemies could not do, our own Congress is trying to do, the ceding of our sovereignty!
This vote to move this terrible treaty to the Senate floor is in the direct opposition to and is in disproportion to the will of the American people. The guy in the White House and the guys and gals in the Senate just don’t get it, talking about slow learners! Or do they want to deliberately destroy this nation? One of my Senators, George Voinovich (RINO-OH), is a member of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Regrettably, he also voted for Amnesty for illegal aliens as well as this horrific treaty. Thus he is living up to his Republican-(or conservative)-In-Name- (at election time – 2010)-Only designation.
The wrong-headed, short-sided, anti-American Law of the Seas Treaty (LOST at Sea, really) would essentially give the corrupt-to-its-core United Nations more power. The UN would grab sovereignty or control over international waters. International waters begin either 3 miles or 12 miles from a nation’s shores. The United Nations would own the mineral rights and the air rights over the water as well. Nations, including the USA, would have to obtain permission form the United Nations to fly their airplanes and sail their ships or explore the waters. Of course the greedy and power grabbing United Nations would also demand some kind of recompense in the form of taxes and fees from the nations for the “privilege” of using the international waters. This would create a global governing body and not a deliberative body as it should be, if it should even exist with United States support and backing to the degree we are wasting precious dollars on this bottomless cesspool of corruption. In reality, they could deny the use of “their” sovereign territory in the conduct of a war between nations.
The United Nations is a worthless, corrupt, and absolutely unworthy of our support. I agree with those presidential candidates who would call our abandonment and its eviction from our land.
Furthermore, the Law of the Seas Treaty would take away United States sovereignty. This is like giving a known arsonist (the UN) a free pass on his latest crime and buying him a truck and giving him gasoline and matches. How wise is that?
TAKE ACTION
Contact the White House and your Senators and urge them not to ratify this perverse treaty.
