Bush calls McCain a 'true conservative', How would he know?

Two True Blue Conservatives? NOT!!

The USAToday.com online ran an AP story. Here are the first two paragraphs of the story. My commentary follows.
“WASHINGTON (AP) — John McCain is a "true conservative," President Bush says, although the presumptive Republican presidential nominee may have to work harder to convince other conservatives that he is one of their own.

McCain "is very strong on national defense," Bush said in an interview taped for airing on Fox News Sunday. “He is tough fiscally. He believes the tax cuts ought to be permanent. He is pro-life. His principles are sound and solid as far as I'm concerned . . ."”
How would President Bush know what a ‘true conservative’ was? This ‘compassionate conservative’ deceiver did more to move the GOP away from true conservative principles than any ‘good’ liberal would have. How dare he refer to McCain as a conservative, let alone a “true conservative.” He and McCain are alike in that they both have and would destroy American sovereignty, worsen our education system, strengthen Chinese economy and military at the expense of American jobs, increase the deficit. . . These two men are not true conservatives. They are disingenuous conservatives at best, moderate-liberals at worst.

You are not automatically conservative by saying you are. Look at the record. Neither Bush’s record nor McCain’s records are indicative of true conservatism.

Quite an endorsement from a man (Bush), who as a “true conservative” compromised with radical liberal Senator Edward Kennedy on the terrible No Child Left Behind bill, and expanded the government, undermined our sovereignty through the secretive North American Union plot, and spent like a Democrat . . . .

We are funding the Chinese government by borrowing from them to pay for this war.
