Portland, Oregon Tea Party and More

Many Tea Party Protests are happening all over the country. The video below shows a handful of these protests, which provides a bit of the flavor of these peaceful protests. The Tea Parties relate to anyone, who will listen, the great displeasure with the direction We the People see the United States taking the first few months of the Soetoro (a/k/a Obama) administration. This movement will continue to grow. Major TEA Party events are planed for Tax Day, April 15, 2009 as well as Independence Day, July 4, 2009.

The Pacific coast states, California, Oregon and Washington, are extremely liberal states, they are deep blue in most of what they do politically. Like most of the states that border the northeast Atlantic these states are leading edge for some of the most radical and socialistic America destroying ideas.

Over 100 people rallied with their signs in protest in the liberal bastion of Portland, Oregon in late February. Embedded below is a video recording their efforts. It’s a prelude of what will be happening across America on Wednesday, April 15th when over 1,000 cities will have Tea Parties of their own, rallying and protesting what the terrible triumvirate – the alleged President Barry Soetoro (a/k/a Barack Obama), Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid -, which is currently in power and is now leading our nation very far astray.

The same group that sponsored the two major Ohio protests earlier this month, Americans for Propriety helped to organize the event in Oregon.

  2. So let me get this straight. The idea of these tea parties is to protest wasteful spending by spending money on tea and then dumping it into the river, thus essentially wasting it. Is that correct? Doesn't that seem a bit ironic and perhaps inappropriate?

  3. Thanks, hess, for your comment.

Are you kidding me, equating the amount of money spent on a bag or even barrels of tea to the trillions being spent by an out-of-control budget-busting radically socialistic government on frivolous, earmarks and special interest political payoffs?

  4. It's still wasted. I'm just saying that perhaps the organizers of these tea parties should have thought a bit harder about the symbolic gesture they are proposing.

  5. hess -

Cost of tea is Incidental in comparison to wasteful urinating of money away by the likes of Presidents Bush and Soetoro (alias Obama). The historic symbolism of the movement may be escaping you, hess. The original Boston Tea Party was a revolt, a protest against the tyrannical government of King Georges.

The April 15th Protests will be aimed at the growing governmental tyranny of ‘King’ George W and ‘King’ Soetoro (a/k/a Obama).

  6. Well, the Boston Tea Party was specifically a revolt against an unreasonable tea tax that was levied by a government for which the Bostonites did not and were not allowed to vote (Britain did have an elected Parliament by that point). Like I said before, I don't really see a symbolic parallel today. Like him or not, Barack Obama was elected by a solid majority of his voting constituents, and I would suspect that everyone participating in these tea parties was in fact afforded the opportunity to participate in that election.

The fact that President Soetoro (a/k/a Obama) received a majority of votes in the last election – - - notwithstanding the fact that many votes were obtained with the dubious help of tainted George Soros financing, assistance from nefarious groups like ACORN, and an unprecedented political activism and malpractice of a compromised, blatantly biased national media – - - doesn’t give the president or congress the carte blanche authority to commit fiscal child abuse on forthcoming generations of Americans. In just a few short months, the terrible triumvirate of Pelosi, Reid and the president has driven the national debt/deficit into a stratospheric range. Essentially, they are spending money we do not have for what we do not need. What a foolish policy and what foolish action.

One goal of the new administration and the 111th congress – which is unnecessary and absolutely unreasonable, is the proposed Cap and Trade Tax – this is merely a socialistic trick to redistribute wealth of America and Americans. First of all, man-caused global warming/climate change is an absolute hoax. Second, billions of money would be wasted with infinitesimal modification of the world’s temperature. Third, it will hurt America’s economy and enrich the likes of charlatans like Al Gore.

The president should be supported when he implements or recommends policies that will strengthen America. However, he should adamantly be opposed when he proposes or move to implement destructive policies or expenditures. That is what the Tea Parties are all about – opposing the new tyrannical actions of the president, the congress and the activist and complicit courts and judges.

Most of you people are crazy. Dumping tea? How stupid can you get. President Obama is saving you. Go someplace else if you don't like his progressive ideas. Start thinking of someone besides you. What doofuses! I can't believe how you got to be adults without any knowledge of history, civics, etc. As a retired teacher, we sure failed in educating people in how to be citizens. I am assuming you are going to refuse your social security and medicare when you are eligible. Spend some time researching what you are protesting to see if it makes sense. Spend some time checking into what Rush, Sean, Bill, and the others say that you take as gospel. By the way, how much did your taxes go up this year? How much will they go up next year? You must be over $250,000.00 per year, certainly more than I made as a teacher, working hard to help children hungry and hurting. But, of course, you don't care about those throwaway people. Excuse my venom but I lost my 55 year old brother last year to a form of cancer that resulted from people of your ilk that oppose everything unless you personally get something from it. Live with your conscience and practice your answers at the Pearly Gates.

  9. Dear Anonymous,
You do not understand your history. When the taxpayers are over burdened they speak out. That is where we are right now. We currently pay 60% of every thing we make to the government. We don't send our kids to the public brain washing institutions but rather pay for it ourselves. We like to use OUR money to send our kids to programs, help out charities WE find worthy, support our church, and many other worthy causes. You have no right to OUR money. You chose to be a teacher. You chose your PERS retirement. We have to pay for you to retire early and complain about those footing the bill. People who make money hire people. We like jobs. It helps us support our families and create dreams. What is wrong with that? No OBAMA is not saving us. You are a kool aid drinker, and a name caller and a victim. Straighten up and take charge of your own life not my wallet.
As for the pearly gates: Do you really think that your liberal support of abortion is going to leave you without judgement?

  10. SAVE THE RICH! SAVE THE RICH! I PAY TAXES SO THE RICH NEED NOT.

It is rather convenient that you blame the young negro Democratic President for ills of which have been the result of the last 30 years of "Reagonomics", "Fiscal Conservatism", predatory Capitalism, and the like. Do not remember that the TARP bill was created by the Secretary of the Treasury under President George W. Bush, whom you voted to re-elect twice. Do not remember that ninety-five percent of the people of the United States of America will receive a tax cut. Do not remember that the Boston Tea Party was a result of Great Britain increasing the tax on American tea and decreasing the corporate tax on the East India Trading Company, with a lack of any kind of American representation in the government. Do not remember that your taxes have not been raised, the corporate taxes are extremely low, and we have a democratically elected Congress and President. Continue doublethinking and listening to the ultra-conservative motley talkers.

Mad about taxes: You're paying boy Georges taxes right now. Obama's tax plan (excluding the cut in taxes I saw on my last paycheck) hasn't kicked in yet.

Mad about spending: McCain would have done the same thing. Only difference it would have went to big oil.

Mad about "impending socialism": I challenge you right now to rip up your medicade card, don't pay to social security, don't call the fire department, police department or any other government agency when your in need.

You're all pathetic. Grow a pair and say waht you really want to say. You don't like a black guy in the presidency. That is the real story. Dick Armey and Fox news sure as hell don't and they're the ones who financed this. You're all sheep that fail to understand that the house got burned to the ground. At least Obama has the guts to say no more money to the ultra rich. It's time to take care of the common man.

I have never entered a comment on the site before, but I am ready to give my opinion. I am 60 yrs and still a working citizen of the good USA and love my country and the people in it. You who defend Obama and his group are out of touch with reality, probably people that do not have a savings and by Starbucks everyday. Under Obama, he will be taxing us more, he will find a way in his new health care bill to cover the illegals and it is in there read it. Every American has a right to stand up for what they believe in! For those of you who are speaking out against the Tea party or anyone who is protesting against major spending of our money I don't think you really understand what our country is all about. We love our freedom to choose and not someone else choose for us and not take our hard earned money away from us like they did with the stock market. All of us baby boomers getting read to retire and they did not want to pay out so they stole our money. Now is the next step in there agenda and we cannot just let a committee take more and more rights away from us. We have to speak up now and show our support otherwise our grandchildren will not have the freedoms we have. We have every right to speak up and if you don't agree well I don't suppose you truly value your independence as it is slowly going away and you don't even see it.
