Let's hope ObamaCare dies this week!
The leftist leadership in the executive and the legislative branches of government does not care about health care reform or even in improving the lot of the majority of Americans. They want power. They want central control of the citizenry. President Soetoro aka Obama, Speaker Pelosi, and Majority Leader Reid lie when they allege that the reason why it is important to pass ObamaCare is to reduce the deficit. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Healthcare reform is absolutely necessary, but it will not be accomplished through a government takeover of another industry, which makes up 1/6 of the economy. The government has no business in areas such as micromanaging healthcare or education. Socialized medicine or nationalizing the healthcare industry has never worked, and it won't work here.

What the government could do is to eliminate the barriers to free market competition. This would reduce costs. This would bring about real healthcare reform. We need to open up the market for health insurance plans to be sold across state lines. We need to begin to privatize some of the federal programs such as Medicare and Medicaid.
.
Simultaneously, we need tort reform.
.
Above all, we need to work toward REDUCING the national debt and deficits, and not INCREASING it with another government program!
Greg, as usual, you have some ideas worth discussing -- but any value or appeal they might have for adults is sadly lost within the absurdly extremist ideological context in which you set them up.
ReplyDeleteHere's a simple lesson. You say:
"The leftist leadership in the executive and the legislative branches of our government does not care about health care reform or even in improving the lot of the majority of Americans. They want power. They want central control of the citizenry."
I understand that such extreme, demonizing claims, offered without evidence or reasoning, may pass for "logic" in certain far right-wing circles. But in the world of rational grownups, it isn't sufficient to simply make wild claims or assertions.
Instead, rational -- which normally by definition means moderate, non-partisan -- people require more. The ancient Greeks, in fact, nailed this when they noted that you fail to make a real argument until you join your claims to some real evidence in a manner which is plausible to other rational people. Anything else is mere rant.
Not only have you left out these crucial stages of adult reasoning, you've not even tried to offer any evidence of your claims whatsoever. Is this standard operating procedure on the right nowadays -- I don't need to offer logic or proof because my feelings that Obama is evil are alone sufficient?
So what is your basis for these wild, extreme -- and frankly demonizing -- claims? Can you provide evidence that rational people would honor -- or is this just another rant that appeals only to fellow right-wingers?
In other words, how seriously do you take yourself and this nation? Do you want to stay forever at this merely partisan level -- ranting and playing at real argumentation? Or will you some day rise to that level of argumentation that the Greeks taught us?
