Sandy O’Brien for Ohio Secretary of State

Sandy O’Brien is running for the Republican nomination for Secretary of State of Ohio. She believes that life begins at conception and that abortion should never be allowed. She supports vigorous enforcement of pornography laws, opposes expansion of gambling, opposes sexual orientation as a protected class, supports a marriage amendment, supports a tax and expenditure limitation amendment to the Ohio Constitution, opposes the use of eminent domain for non-government use, and supports education choice through vouchers and/or tax credits. She is also pro-second amendment and a fiscal conservative.

Her opponent Jon Husted endorsed the pro-choice, pro-gun control Jeanette Bradley in the 2006 race for State Treasurer. He voted to increase Ohio’s sales tax and the state’s gasoline tax and has voted to create the new CAT (food) tax. He voted for the wasteful Ohio Third Frontier Project (vote no on this May 4th). He has also introduced a bill that would take the Ohio Apportionment Board out of the hands of elected officials.

It's all well and good that she supports Christian teachings, but that has nothing to do with being Ohio's Secretary of State. I don't know about you, but while I love my pastor, I wouldn't want him to be in charge of such an important office.

I'm going to wait and see on this one.

The NRA and Right to Life both endorsed Jon Husted for Secretary of State. If what O'Brien's say about him is true, they would not have endorsed him.
