Fred Thompson Slams Media Bias

Fred Thompson: . . . We need some new media, real bad, because I have been dealing with the old media all morning. There are three stories in the front page of the New York Times today, all dealing essentially with Sarah Palin’s children. I said the New York Times would not know a scandal if it was walking down main street under a search light, except for a Republican, somebody like this . . .

Blogger Question: As someone who has been in the media before, can you give us your assessment of how the media has covered the (presidential) campaign so far?

Fred Thompson: Well it has been generally poor up until now. Now it is abysmal. That is my summary. The abysmal part has to do with Sarah Palin. They are in a feeding frenzy. They are in a state of panic. They don’t know what to do. The liberal blogosphere is gone wild . . . It is shameful . . . It is an excuse for journalism, it is not journalism . . .
