She is a Judicial Activist, who will ignore the original intent of the Constitution and the law and treat it as a ‘living document.’ She will look at international law and not at the Constitution solely. She appears to be a racist, having been affiliated with various racist organizations and her decisions seem to be prejudicial. She will limit first amendment rights of individuals. She opposes an individual’s right to own guns. She will support the expansion of both abortion ‘rights’ and the homosexual agenda. Other than this, she is a perfect candidate!

Seriously, her appointment and confirmation proves one thing, that elections have serious consequences. We elected a radical President, we get radical results.

The White House gave the Senators and Representatives their marching orders as to how to handle the 'terrorist, extremists' who dare to oppose the Dear Leader.

3. COST. The United States faces a debt crisis. According to many analysts, including Senator Judd Gregg (who is so respected by President Obama that he offered Gregg the post of Secretary of Commerce), the Obama budget will give us $11 trillion of debt at the end of five years and $17 trillion of debt at the end of ten years. Question for your Congressmen: Why are Congress and the president pushing through a healthcare bill that would cost another trillion dollars over the next ten years? Shouldn't we concentrate on getting the debt under control first?

Wouldn’t be better to work on saving the best of the current healthcare system and fix it incrementally? Fix what is broken. Wouldn't be better to get the government's finanical house in order before creating additional massive amounts of debt?

2. EUTHANASIA. In a recent New York Post column, Betsy McCaughey, a former lieutenant governor of New York and health care expert, wrote: "One troubling provision of the House bill compels seniors to submit to a counseling session every five years (and more often if they become sick or go into a nursing home) about alternatives for end-of-life care (House bill, p. 425-430). The sessions cover highly sensitive matters such as whether to receive antibiotics and 'the use of artificially administered nutrition and hydration.' This mandate invites abuse, and seniors could easily be pushed to refuse care."

Question for your Congressmen: Will you oppose any healthcare reform bill that in any way promotes euthanasia?

George Voinovich and 8 other unprincipled RINOs voted to confirm a racist, activist, leftist jurist, Sonia Sotomayor, to be the next U.S. Supreme Court Justice. Voinovich epitomizes what spending a political lifetime in Washington can do to a citizen. As he nears the end of his long political career he no longer has to worry about getting reelected and he votes his true heart – a liberal-leaning, moderate, faux-conservative. Apparently this evidences the true character, the real George Voinovich.

Getting back to the Sotomayor confirmation, America will have to live with this very bad appointment for a very long time. Expect Sotomayor to be consistently on the wrong side of nearly every case that comes before the court starting when she takes her seat this fall.

Elections have consequences. America deserves this radical America-hating, liberty-limiting judge by electing a radical government-expanding, deficit-expanding, power-hungry leftist President. We got hope and change alright. However, we need an overdose of real hope and real change. We need hope that this nation will survive until the next election. And we need hope that it will endure the continued rapid and rabid attacks on our Representative Republican form of government, as well as this Leftist President's and Congresses' meticulous march toward a socialist state. This website, formerly CSPAN-Junkie.org has been a substantive effort to inform the public as to what is going on in Congress, the White House, and the major political pundit outlets. Update on HR 1207/S 604

Dear American,

John 3:20-21 (NKJV) says, “For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”

This is an update on H.R. 1207, The Federal Reserve Transparency Act. All 178 House Republicans have cosponsored this bill. About 100 House Democrats have also cosponsored it. Even though this almost enough to override a Presidential veto, the Democratic leadership in the House (Nancy Pelosi) and in the banking committee (of which Steve Driehaus is a member) are standing in the way of bringing it to a vote. 20 Senators have cosponsored S. 604, The Federal Reserve Sunshine Act (a bill which is identical to H.R. 1207).

When I wrote to Steve Driehaus about this, he sent back a message saying that he would not support it because he did not want to “politicize” this “independent” institution. (It’s funny that he uses the exact same words as everyone else who opposes this bill.) In reality, what he is saying is that the public does not have the right to know how our tax dollars (and money newly printed by the Federal Reserve) are being spent by a group of people who were not elected by the People. These private bankers (e.g. Goldman Sachs) stand to gain financially by the secret decisions that they are making with our money. There should not even be a Federal Reserve! (The sponsor of H.R. 1207 has written another bill, H.R. 833 which would completely abolish the Fed.) But Barack Obama is calling for even more authority to be given to the Fed to regulate financial transactions and lending.

Bill Clinton’s Trip to North Korea

Clinton is making news for agreeing to meet with North Korea’s leader Kim Jong Il in exchange for the release of the two U.S. journalists, Laura Ling and Euna Lee from North Korea. But giving into threats in exchange for the release of hostages is not a wise move, in the opinion of former U.N. ambassador John Bolton.

"The symbolism of a former president going to meet with Kim Jong Il, I think is something that benefits Kim Jong Il a lot more than the United States and it only encourages others to do the same thing," he said. He goes on to speculate that Iran may be calling on him for a visit next.

I actually don’t agree with Bolton’s position on this issue. If all they want is to talk, and wrongfully convicted U.S. citizens can be released, then why not? If we were actually giving up something of value (a conversion with Bill Clinton is of little to me), then he would have a point. I certainly disagree with Clinton’s policy of appeasement by foreign aid, but I don’t think that making threats against North Korea are in order either. The whole thing is overblown by both sides and the MSM.

Vote No On Obama's Healthcare Plan

Dear American,

Please take the time to ask your congressman and your Senators to vote no on H.R. 3200 (The America's Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009). And please pass this on!

This bill would:

(If you get sick of reading the following list, just skip down to where it says WORST OF ALL.)

Socialize medicine, require healthcare rationing, would restrict homeschooling rights, give the government that right to decide what medical treatments you can and can’t have, provide free healthcare for non-citizens, exempt from individual taxes any nonresident alien, require you to have a national healthcare ID card, give government access to your bank account, fix the salaries of all doctors (they will all make the same amount no matter how good or bad they are), give the new HC Administration access to all medical records of all Americans, penalize hospitals for what government deems preventable readmissions (incentives for hospital to not treat and release), mandate that hospitals cannot expand (“number of operating rooms or beds”), allow government agencies to disqualify HMOs and other private plans, restrict enrollment of special needs people, mandate Advance (Death) Care Planning consultation, issue payments to community-based organizations (like ACORN), mandate government marriage counseling, mandate mental health services, eliminate choice in residencies of medical students, require forced vaccinations, mandate drug prices, mandate the educating of parents as to how they should raise their children, require doctors to perform two years of service in the National Health Service Corps which would be established under this bill, establish a Public Health Workforce Corps to ensure an adequate supply of public health professionals (after doing just about all it can to drive people away from choosing that profession), develop “Healthy People & National Public Health Performance Standards”, establish school-based “health” clinics (in which abortions could be performed), and establish a National Medical Device Registry.

If the services you receive from this federal government healthcare plan result in malpractice, you would have no legal recourse against the federal government. Any individual who refuses to go on the government plan would be required to pay an additional 2.5% on their income taxes.

Section 441 says in lines 14-15 - “The tax imposed under this section shall not be treated as tax.”

WORST OF ALL, not only would this bill fund abortions (OR MAYBE EVEN FORCE WOMEN TO HAVE ABORTIONS, see section 1713 lines 3-5) and other “family planning services”, but would also force all private health insurance companies to provide abortion coverage.

Chicago Style Politics of Threats and Intimidation

It should be no surprise that when Barack Obama chose Rahm Emanuel to his Chief of Staff, that the dirty politics of the Chicago area would rear its ugly head in the White House. The former congressman who represented a Chicago area congressional district has stooped to harassment of House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Ranking Member Darrell Issa (R-CA) for simply stating his concerns regarding the feasibility of H.R. 1 (Economic Stimulus Package).

“While this type of scare tactic may work in Chicago, it will not work to intimidate me or other Members of the United States Congress,” said Issa.

The Planned Parenthood Payout of 2009

Once again it’s time for Klanned Parenthood’s biennial multi-million dollar payout for their faithful support of the liberal, pro-abortion, establishment in Congress. This time Mike Pence barely even got a vote on his amendment to this Congress’ Department of Hell and Inhumane Services appropriations bill. Once again, his amendment failed and the bill passed easily.

I am disappointed that Ron Paul decided to abstain from the voting this time. I realize that Pence’s amendment is technically unconstitutional. You can’t, in a piece of legislation, single out a single person or organization. Bills of Attainder and ex post facto laws are forbidden by Article I section 9. (Liberals violate these provisions all the time.) But there comes a point in time when you’ve got to chose to save as many lives as you can and render as much justice as you can even if you have to violate the Constitution. It’s a sad state of affairs when you’ve reached that point. I have criticized Pence in the past for this and he never gave me a straight answer as to why he wouldn’t include ALL abortion providers in his amendment instead of Planned Parenthood only.

It is even more disappointing that RP also abstained on the bill itself. He has voted NO on these bills in the past. I am wondering if he is getting soft…

The Right Way to Amend the Constitution, part 7

This is part seven of an ongoing series of articles containing proposals for amendments to the Constitution. For someone who claims so fervently to be a “Constitutionalist”, how is it that I can be so eager to change the Constitution? Well, there are several reasons. For one thing, I believe that after the Bill of Rights, much damage was done by some of the amendments that were added and the legitimacy of some of their ratifications are questionable. Secondly, the Constitution has been violated so much that the necessity of further amendments is needed to resolve the resulting problems. But this should be done extremely cautiously. These amendments are extremely unlikely to ever be introduced, much less ratified, but hey, I can dream, can’t I?

The title for this week’s proposed article of amendment (subject to revision) is The Interstate Commerce Clause Abolishment Amendment, the text of which follows:

The United States shall not regulate commerce among the several States.

Commentary on this proposed amendment:

Article I section 8 states:

The Congress shall have Power to … regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes.

Due to the routine abuse of this clause and the fact that the United States is much larger than it was when the Founders formulated the Constitution, I think the power of the Congress should be revoked in this matter.

This clause has been used to say that a man can’t feed his own cattle with his own wheat because if he doesn’t make it available to people in other states, then it affects interstate commerce. Of course, this is obviously judicial activism, but in other cases it’s iffy. I believe that the original definition of “regulate” was “to make regular”, not “to make (any) rules concerning”. Article I section 9 says:

No Tax or Duty shall be laid on Articles exported from any State. No Preference shall be given by any Regulation of Commerce or Revenue to the Ports of one State over those of another; nor shall Vessels bound to, or from, one State, be obliged to enter, clear, or pay Duties in another.

I believe that this is the sort of thing (fair trade) that the Founders were talking about (the clause in section 8 could be extended to similar situations), not banning export of oranges from Florida if they aren’t orange enough or if they have too much pesticide on them.

Barack Obama’s 37 Social Security Numbers

There has been a rumor going around the blogosphere that Mr. Obama has 37 or more Social Security numbers. Some have said that the SSN that he has used the most was issued out of Connecticut, a state in which Mr. Obama has never resided. (They know this because of the first five digits, 042-68.) Some have said that this Connecticut number once belonged to a man who, if alive today, would be 119 years old.

A possible explanation for the multitude of SSNs attributed to the name Barack Hussein Obama is that some people (up to some mischief) have legally changed their names to Barack Hussein Obama. This is entirely possible. I have also heard it said that there is nothing illegal about having more than one SSN.

But the Connecticut number is not so easily explained away. If this is really true then Obama is a fraud. I will further speculate about how this came to light. Obama defenders argued against the “birthers” that Obama couldn’t have been issued an SSN if he did not have a birth certificate. But they didn’t bother to find out that the SSN, which would have been issued during Obama’s teen years, was issued from Connecticut or that it had belonged to someone else.

All of this could just be a bunch of baloney, but maybe it isn’t. I couldn’t find it on Snopes yet. This issue may be pushed to the forefront once Major Stefan Cook's case comes to trial.

Tell Congress to Take a Dose of Their Own Medicine

The Center for Health Transitions is sponsoring a petition that asks Americans to sign it. This petition demands that all members of Congress agree to be enrolled in the same Government-run Health Care that they are trying to impose on Americans under their so-called healthcare reform package. I just signed it.

If They Vote for Government-Run Healthcare, They Enroll in Government-Run Healthcare

A government-sponsored public plan option continues to be the most contentious issue in the current health reform debate. Proponents of the option believe it provides an alternative. It lets Americans choose between a government-run option and private insurers, while at the same time applying competitive pressure to the rest of the insurance industry. Opponents say the introduction of a public plan would lead to the federal takeover of the country’s healthcare system, thereby restricting patient choice, reducing quality and increasing the power of the federal government.

As health legislation continues to be debated, one has to ask whether members of Congress writing such legislation would actually enroll themselves in a new government-run healthcare option. Current draft healthcare legislation exempts members of Congress from the public plan option, allowing them to keep their existing plans.

Congressman John Fleming (LA-04) is asking this very question noting that public servants should be accountable and responsible for what they are advocating. He has created a resolution calling on members of Congress who support a public option to enroll themselves and encourage their colleagues to do the same. We support his resolution and broaden it to include congressional staff as well.

Government Health Care in Action

This (click on title)is an example of what happens when we go down the road of socialized , government controlled heath care. this story is repeated in Europe and Australia all the time.

My mother who is German had a brother and a brother-in-law pass away in Germany from heart attacks over the last three years. Both of them would probably been saved if here in America and that was admitted by the wife of both of these men to my mother. They both had heart attacks on the weekend, one on Fri evening and the other on Sat. They basically had to wait for Monday before they would be properly treated because no doctors were available for surgery on the weekend. In the mean time, both died. On the other hand, my mother herself had a heart attack 2 years ago. There were no questions asked when she went to the emergency room to see if she would or would not get treatment based on insurance. She did have insurance , but that factor was not determinate as to whether they would save her life or not.They saved her life.

Please, fight this ObamaCare with all you have. Our quality of health care and our very freedoms are on the line.

1. ABORTION. Pro-choice groups, like NARAL and Planned Parenthood, are demanding that abortion be covered in any healthcare reform bill. In a recent interview with Politico, Laurie Rubiner, vice president for public policy and advocacy at Planned Parenthood, defends this demand by saying, "the alternative would be slashing benefits for millions of women who currently have [private] coverage for abortions..." In addition, key administration officials refuse to rule out abortion coverage. When asked on Fox News Sunday whether taxpayer money would go to pay for abortions, White House Budget Director Peter Orszag replied, "I am not prepared to say explicitly that right now. It's obviously a controversial issue, and it's one of the questions that is playing out in this debate."

Pro-life senators on the Senate's Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee forced a roll call vote on the issue when Senator Barbara Mikulski (D-MD) attempted to add an amendment to the healthcare bill that would, in her words, "include women's health clinics that provide comprehensive services...deemed medically necessary or appropriate." She admitted that such "health clinics" would include Planned Parenthood. The pro-life amendment to prohibit funding of abortion lost 11-to-12.

Please do so immediately. By shoving these documents in their faces - it will make these so called BIRTHERS cringe in their seats and eat crow!

These should be made public record anyway as you are now the president of the united States and thy are owed to the public for posterity. They will end up in your Presidential library anyway.

Also, in this trying economy, it would be a great savings if you stopped spending the hundreds of thousands of dollars on attorneys to PREVENT people from seeing your now HISTORICAL records.

Try and Guess: WHO I AM?

I was born in one country, raised in another. My father was born in another country. I was not his only child. He fathered several children with numerous women.

I became very close to my mother, as my father showed no interest in me. My mother died at an early age from cancer.

Later in life, questions arose over my real name.

My birth records were sketchy and no one was able to produce a legitimate, reliable birth certificate.

I grew up practicing one faith but converted to Christianity, as it was widely accepted in my country, but I practiced non-traditional beliefs & didn’t follow Christianity, except in the public eye under scrutiny.

I worked and lived among lower-class people as a young adult, disguising myself as someone who really cared about them..

That was before I decided it was time to get serious about my life and I embarked on a new career.

I wrote a book about my struggles growing up. It was clear to those who read my memoirs that I had difficulties accepting that my father abandoned me as a child.

I became active in local politics in my 30’s then with help behind the scenes, I literally burst onto the scene as a candidate for national office in my 40s. They said I had a golden tongue and could talk anyone into anything. That reinforced my conceit.

I had a virtually non-existent resume, little work history, and no experience in leading a single organization. Yet I was a powerful speaker and citizens were drawn to me as though I were a magnet and they were small roofing tacks.

I drew incredibly large crowds during my public appearances. This bolstered my ego.

At first, my political campaign focused on my country’s foreign policy. I was very critical of my country in the last war and seized every opportunity to bash my country.

But what launched my rise to national prominence were my views on the country’s economy. I pretended to have a really good plan on how we could do better and every poor person would be fed & housed for free.

I knew which group was responsible for getting us into this mess. It was the free market, banks & corporations. I decided to start making citizens hate them and if they were envious of others who did well, the plan was clinched tight.

I called mine “A People’s Campaign” and that sounded good to all people.

I was the surprise candidate because I emerged from outside the traditional path of politics & was able to gain widespread popular support.

I knew that, if I merely offered the people ‘hope’, together we could change our country and the world.

So, I started to make my speeches sound like they were on behalf of the downtrodden, poor, ignorant to include “persecuted minorities” like the Jews. My true views were not widely known & I needed to keep them unknown, until after I became my nation’s leader.

I had to carefully guard reality, as anybody could have easily found out what I really believed, if they had simply read my writings and examined those people I associated with.

I’m glad they didn’t. Then I became the most powerful man in the world. And the world learned the truth.

Very scary, indeed, there are a number of parallels it seems between a past merciless tyrant and the present occupier of the White House. Recapping, what are some of the obvious parallels? Socialist ideologues, grossly inexperienced executives level leadership, pro-death social philosophies and programs (both in favor of mass genocide, one an entire race of people – Jewish holocaust, one an entire generation of black babies and ‘unwanted’ babies – abortion), and on and on. 'Evil incarnate' might be an apt term in depicting each of these men, when you look at their actions, their plans, and their plans.

Ohio LiberTEA ParTEA 8/1/09 Columbus, Part 2

I was not surprised, but still disappointed with the meager media coverage of this landmark event, the all-Ohio LiberTEA Party held on Saturday. There were THOUSANDS of patriots present. A major speaker was featured, Judge Andrew Napolitano of Fox News. See a portion of his speech at the bottom of this article.

For example, while the local liberal yellow journal, also called the Columbus Dispatch, on its “A Taxing Issue” photo layout of the issue, manipulated the TEA Party protest into merely an anti-tax event and marginalized it as just one side (the wrong one) of the local tax issue. You see the City of Columbus has an income tax ballot issue coming up tomorrow. Interestingly and very revealing the first three photos in the 9 photo slideshow cover the TEA Party. Again, this is an event where 7-10 THOUSAND people from all over the state gave up their Saturday afternoons to make the trip to an otherwise dead downtown. On the other hand, a few hundred local door-to-door ballot issue pushers where given a 6 photos (100% more coverage) to cover their sorry story. To me that is pushing a certain agenda and not reporting the news objectively or fairly, the complete story did not get told.
Another example is the only news story I could find was on WTBN TV10, a CBS affiliate, spent approximately 2 ½ minutes covering Issue One (the local income tax issue) and the campaign to pass the income tax, while less than 2 minutes were given to the massive grassroots pro-limited government, pro-liberty, pro-sovereignty, pro-American rally that occurred on the west lawn of the Statehouse.

Below are photos and a video that, I think capture the magnitude of the multitude meeting to express their outrage not only over the taxes, but loss of state sovereignty (which, by the way, was one of the main reasons for the rally) loss of individual freedoms, growth of big government, and the doubling of the deficit by the current administration and Congress in just six months.

Are You a Child of Satan?

The question at hand is: Does Satan have children?

THE KORANIC ACCOUNT

The only true religion in Allah’s eyes is Islam (Surah 3:19).

Whoever chooses Satan as their father figure, thereby forsaking Allah, will suffer noticeable irreparable harm (Surah 4:119).

“Every child is born in Islam: it is his parents who make him a Jew or a Christian” ((B. 23:179) a saying of the Prophet, commentary on the Quran in “The Holy Qur’an” page 140, by Maulana Muhammad Ali, Ahmadiyya Anjuman Isha’at Islam Lahore Inc. U.S.A.).

COMMENTARY ON THE KORANIC ACCOUNT

According to Mohammad, children are born believing in Islam, which according to the Koran is the only correct religion. Allah is pleased with no other religion.

There are many ways of going to Satan as a father figure. That is one who helps you and guides you. There is the practice of witchcraft, psychic phenomena; consulting the dead, voodoo, astrology, idolatry, false religions and many other things a person can do which makes one dependent on Satan as ones benefactor.

According to the Koran fowling Satan is a choice made by the individual. This includes being a Jew or a Christian which, form the Islamic point of view, is following Satan and not Allah.
Since Satan unlike Allah, Who is not created, but is a created being and therefore not limitless as is Allah could never defeat Allah. Therefore, his followers will not win against Allah either. Even if Satan could win against Allah he would still destroy his followers. He has no love for them or commitment to them.

COMMENTARY ON THE BIBLICAL ACCOUNT

God does not delight in the death of anyone. Instead He prefers that people repent of their sins and be saved. He is not willing that any should perish. Jesus took the sins of each and every person in His own body on the cross and received against Himself the wrath of God; tasting death for everyone. This makes Him the mediator between God and man.

If Jesus were not God, then He would not be able to receive the wrath God upon Himself for every person’s sin. If He were not man, then He could not represent man before God.

In Genesis 3:15 God told Adam and Eve that the seed of the woman would crush the head of the serpent who is Satan. He did this through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. Jesus is Creator God and all powerful. He has defeated Satan.

A person must choose for Christ otherwise the wrath of God abides on them.

God put hatred between the children of the woman and the children of Satan. A child of Satan need not stay there, in his or her present condition (apart from the Triune God). Through faith in Jesus Christ one can transfer from the kingdom of Darkness to the kingdom of Light, which is Jesus. All they need to do is (1) to believe that Jesus is God in flesh, and that He represented them on the cross, (2) to repent of their sin and (3) to ask Jesus into their heart. God’s merciful and gracious provision for sin extends to all men and women.

People have a choice. It is written, “He (Jesus) came unto His own and His own received Him not, but as many as received Him to them He gave the right or power to become the Children of God even to them that believe on his name (John 1:11,12).” No one is excluded by God but some people choose to exclude themselves. God knew before creation who would exclude themselves and who would accept His gift of salvation. Those then that He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, Jesus Christ (Romans 8:29).

COMPARING & CONTRASTING THE KORAN WITH SCRIPTURE

If children were born Muslims they would not have to be taught anything about religion. They would know its content from birth. We know from experience that children need to be taught and trained. They do not have knowledge of things from birth. It is the responsibility of the parents to train and teach their own child.

According to the Judeo-Christian Scripture, a person is not forced to choose Satan. Unfortunately that is the case, as outlined in the Koran. However, one must choose Jesus in order to gain eternal life. (a forever relationship with the God of the Universe). Not making a choice to give one’s life to Jesus is actually a decision to live under the authority and power of Satan. In addition, it also causes one to be under the wrath of God, and to experience His wrath and punishment upon one’s physical death.

CONCLUSION

Satan does have children, but you do not have to be one of them if you do not want to.

If you want eternal life, then you must believe that Jesus is God in flesh, that He received the wrath of God for your sins, and that He rose from the dead. You can repent of your sins right now and invite Jesus into your heart. A sample prayer is, “Lord Jesus Christ forgive me of my sins and come into my heart.”

Ohio LiberTEA ParTEA 8/1/09 Columbus

The first all-Ohio TEA Party was held this afternoon at the Ohio Statehouse in downtown Columbus. At the very least, the expected 10,000 patriots showed up. People swelled the Capitol grounds from the steps of the Capitol Building to Broad Street. They came from Cincinnati, Springfield, Mansfield, and many parts unknown. They came to hear some excellent speakers including featured speaker Fox News’ Judge Andrew Napolitano. Judge Napolitano did not disappoint giving a rousing speech outlining his beliefs and giving a strong challenge to the assembled mass.

I joined a group of 50, who took an hour bus ride south to Columbus. We arrived to a sprinkle, then a heavier drizzle of rain. It soon subsided and the Party was on. Below are a few of the pictures that I hope capture some of the essence of what occurred this day . . .

By the size and enthusiasm of the crowd the TEA Party Movement continues to grow and to gain momentum. Hopefully our legislatures will hear the cry of the Tea Party patriots and stop the spending and stop the appropriation of taxes and the rights of We the People. We were encouraged to visit our representatives and Senators as they conduct their Town Hall meetings and visit their local district offices. They need to hear the great frustration, concern and anger of the people over the massive unchecked and unaccountable actions of the Congress and President the past few years.

Moving among the crowd were people distributing pink slips, which are part of the MoveOutCongress.com program to remove EVERY member of Congress up for re-election in 2010. That includes 435 members of the U.S. House of Representatives and 36 Senators.

Interestingly no elected federal representative or their representative were asked to speak. They were just asked to listen to the people - for a change.

It has now been well over a year since the controversy over a teacher’s first amendment right to have his personal Bible on his classroom desk began. The middle school teacher was subsequently accused of marking the arm of one of his students in his science class. Later, fearing legal action, he was apparently set-up by the school and administration, which built a case to get rid of him.

I had not seen much about the case lately. I did find a brief article in the Columbus Dispatch a week ago that gave a brief update. The Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch has been biased in its coverage of the story from the start. A week ago yesterday, this liberal yellow, or is it ‘red,’ journal, published a revealing paragraph in an article, summarizing the ‘facts’ of the case as follows:

"Following a school-district investigation last year, (John) Freshwater was accused of preaching in class, burning crosses on students' arms with a laboratory device and disobeying orders to remove a Bible and other religious items from his classroom."

That summary was sensationalized, biased and very subjective.

From my personal observation, having followed this story, having attended a few of the hearing sessions and having read accounts in newspapers and blogs, I think the summary should more accurately read something like this:


The school district hired a mom and pop investigative firm which limited their investigation to achieve a predetermined outcome, that which strengthened and supported the school board’s position. The investigator’s report was actually screened by the board’s attorney before it was finalized.

Years ago, Freshwater advocated that alternatives to the Theory of Evolution be included in the science curriculum. This upset some of his fellow teachers and administrators. For a brief period of time the State of Ohio did allow it to be included in the teaching curriculum. Freshwater, during a time when it was appropriate and ‘lawful’ to present alternatives to evolution within the curriculum, did so. When it became ‘unlawful’ or not part of accepted curriculum, he stopped teaching the alternatives. Now, he may have responded to student’s inquiries about faith-based matters and he may have answered those inquiries. But this is still America and no one has to check in his beliefs at the school door entrance.

One apparently disgruntled student, who had voluntarily agreed to be involved in the experiment, had been apparently touched and may have been ‘marked’ with a Tesla Coil. That device was being used by other teachers and by Mr. Freshwater for years without incident. His parents complained on their son's behalf complained to the school. Unsatisfied with the school's response, they later sued the school board.

The school principal did demand that Mr. Freshwater remove his personal Bible from his desk as well as ‘religious’ posters, etc. in his classroom. Freshwater complied, with the exception of his personal Bible, which had been at his side for 20 years. That was why he was eventually terminated and that is why he is challenging his termination, which he has a right to do under his teachers’ union contract.


The first amendment guarantee, a person's to freely express his faith, is what is at the core of this case. A man was unfairly fired because of his faith.

The Columbus Dispatch reporter postulated in his article that the hearings would possibly resume in mid-September.
