Dan Rivers opened the LiberTEA Party with a song he wrote especially for the TEA Party Movement. Some of the lyrics of the song are transcribed below. The video is from near the front of the crowd of between 7-8,000 patriots that filled the west lawn of the Ohio Statehouse this past Saturday. This was the first video I published.
This American Life by Dan Rivers
We can’t stand by and watch her disappear
We gotta keep on doin’ what’s right
If we’re gonna live This American Life
I remember my country, when I was a kid
Free I was, to do the crazy things I did
Like running the country roads all night long
And not knowin’ they’d be in this American song
Did you’d ever think it would come to this?
No GM or Chrysler or Small Businesses?
If you try to take the dreams of a man
You can’t tell him, you can’t do the best you can
If you think so, then you don’t understand
It’s all about AmeriCAN
America, where do we go from here?
You know what?
We can’t get back in our cars and then disappear
We gotta do something don’t we? Everyday
America, where do we go from here?
We can’t stand by and watch her disappear
America, where do we go from here?
We can’t stand by and watch her disappear
We gotta keep on doin’ what’s right
If we’re gonna live This American Life
