It seemed like Fred Thompson never was really in the race for president. He seemed to be sleepily going through the motions. He never seemed fully engaged. He fell short of being a real conservative. For example, he was supposedly pro-life, but would not support a federal Human Life Amendment.
Since Duncan Hunter and Tom Tancredo dropped previously, there are really no true conservatives left. I could not and will not vote for John McCain, Mitt Romney, or Rudy Giuliani. It seems that Mike Huckabee is the closest to a conservative as we are going to get this year from the GOP. Huckabee says the right things about abortion and homosexuality, the two most critically important issues to me.
