Hear Their Cry
“We need fathers to recognize their responsibility does not just end at conception.”
- - - Sen. Barack Obama, Father's Day speech
Are these just empty words that sound thoughtful, reasonable, good but are meant to tickle ears and are essentially empty, devoid of any real meaning as spouted by the speaker? I think that the junior senator from Illinois has gotten away with a lot of fancy and flowery oratory, which is shallow dribble, or worse outright lies.
Well, in the following ad, which is running on the Internet on YouTube and in some communities beginning in the greater Cincinnati metropolitan area, Family Research Council (FRC) Action’s Tony Perkin’s called the would-like-to-be president on it asking him what he meant by that statement. Watch the video below
In a news release Mr. Perkins is quoted as saying, "While Senator Barack Obama's comments on Father's Day imploring men to take responsibility for their children are commendable, he appears to be unaware of the irony in his statement that 'we need fathers to recognize that responsibility doesn't just end at conception'."I would like to ask Senator Obama: if my responsibility as a father began at conception, isn't that when the lives of my children began?
"Senator Obama has voted for numerous laws supporting abortion in his time in the U.S. Senate and the Illinois legislature. He is the co-sponsor of the Federal Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA), a sweeping piece of legislation that will legalize partial-birth abortion and overturn virtually all federal and state limitations on abortion."Senator Obama understands that a father's responsibility does not end at conception, but does he understand that it begins there as well?"
