Doug Patterson is running for Congress in Oregon's fifth district.
He believes that abortions should always be illegal.
He favors eliminating whole departments and agencies to solve the Federal budget crisis. “Eliminate whatever is not authorized by the Constitution,” he says. This includes the Department of Education. He would also eliminate federal income taxes.
On crime issues he says, “[There should be] one appeal for conviction of rape, murder, child molestation, and armed assault. If appellate court affirms, death should take place immediately.”
On the energy crisis, he says, “Stop the environmental madness. Start drilling now!”
On gun control, he says, “None of the government’s business!”
On immigration he says, “Close our borders now. Stop all illegal immigration. Enforce our current laws.”
On international issues, he says, “Stop ALL foreign aid immediately! The U.S. should stop meddling in foreign affairs! The U.S. needs to get out of all so called ‘free trade’ agreements that are designed to crush the American economy.”
On Iraq, he says, “GET OUT NOW!”
On Social Security, he says, “Abolish the entire system! You take care of your retirement - I'll take care of mine!”
