DISCLOSE Act Disposed, Cloture Vote Failed 57-41

McConnell: DISCLOSE Act Puts Politics Ahead of First Amendment

Hat tip goes to ResistNet.com for emailing the following information this evening, “This afternoon the cloture vote on the motion to proceed to the DISCLOSE Act failed 57-41. Leader Reid voted no for procedural reasons and Senators Lieberman and Ensign were absent. All Republicans present voted against proceeding to the measure.”

Big Labor Unions Would Have Been Exempt!

“Americans want us to focus on jobs, but by taking us off the small business bill and moving to this one (the DISCLOSE Act), Democrats are proving the jobs they care about most are their own. Think about it. Here we are in the middle of the worst recession in memory, and Democrat leaders decided to pull us off a bill that’s meant to create jobs in an effort to pass this election-year ploy to hold onto their own."

the President & his party’s primarily partisan politically-driven ‘Keep Incumbents in Power’ Act or DISCLOSE Act for short.
