Patrick Henry On Liberty

Expanding government size and influence as espoused by President Barry Soetoro (a/k/a Barack Obama), Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Senator Harry Reid is shortsighted and dangerous. Anytime we exchange our perceived security, or place our hopes and trust in government, then we give up some of our individual freedoms. When we become dependent on government, we become its slaves. We come to be at the mercy of the state. We yield our rights and liberties to Big Brother in exchange for a return of a few of our own or our fellow countrymen’s tax dollars.

In his day Patrick Henry faced the tyranny of the King. In 2009 we face the tyranny of the State, a bloated bureaucratic behemoth, individual rights and liberties stripping government. We must fight against Big Brother as much as our Founders resisted and fought against an intolerable King.
