Senator Judd Gregg, A Stimulus Causality

I first saw the news about Senator Judd Gregg's decision to quit the Secretary of Commerce job before he was even confirmed by the Senate on the WorldNetDaily.com website. Alex Johnson, Republican strategist was asked for his comments in an interview on MSNBC regarding Senator Gregg’s withdrawal. Johnson stated that Senator Gregg Put principle before ambition.” He said that that was unusual in Washington these days. Apparently Gregg’s conservative fiscal principles conflicted too greatly for him to fit in the extremely liberal, fiercely partisan Soetoro (a/k/a Obama) Administration.

Senator Gregg, in a statement released yesterday (Thursday) and reported on MSNBC, said, “. . . it has become apparent during this process that this will not work for me as I have found that on issues such as the stimulus package and the Census there are irresolvable conflicts for me. Prior to accepting this post, we had discussed these and other potential differences, but unfortunately we did not adequately focus on these concerns. We are functioning from a different set of views on many critical items of policy."

"Obviously the president requires a team that is fully supportive of all his initiatives . . . at this time I must withdraw my name from consideration for this position . . .”

Scorecard: Withdrawn Cabinet Nominees for Secretary of Commerce and a Recommendation

Strike One: Governor Bill Richardson, a Democrat, withdrew 1/5/09 because of a federal investigation.

Strike Two: Senator Judd Gregg, a Republican, withdrew 2/12/09 citing “irresolvable differences.”
Next Nominee: How about A-Rod? Alex Rodriguez seems qualified, being a cheat and having extensive experience with using a stimulus, stimulant, same difference . . .

He’d fit right in nicely in President Soetoro's (a/k/a Obama's) corrupt cabinet along with Hillary “Whitewater” Rodham-Clinton and Timothy “Tax-Evader “ Geitner wouldn’t you agree?
