What a contrast with present day America (the future that President Jackson was talking about). The Bible is banned, bansihed and brandished. That is precisely why this republic is torn, tattered, and teetering today on the edge of destruction.
I consider Andrew Jackson to be the last good president. He was the last constitutionalist, the last patriot, and the last truely Christian president.
ReplyDeletePerhaps the bible was the foundation of thought for the leaders of our country at one point, but it was a rather dark time in light of the way a large majority of the community was treated.
ReplyDeleteIt's difficult for me to fathom the mindset of voters who think believing in the supernatural hero of a 3,000 year-old novel is a reasonable position for an aspiring leader.
How about we stop all this nonsense about a politician's religious background; on his thought process and presentation?
Why don't we just focus on their policies?
I submit to you two fairly obvious ideas:
1) Asking to know what's in a man's head and heart is a kind way of begging to be deceived.
2) How any man arrives at an action is irrelevant. It's the action that counts.
Focus on the substance. Forget about the superstition.
Would you rather have a president that pays lip service to Christianity, but continues to crush our economy and endanger Americans?
Or would you prefer a secular man that brought life, liberty, peace and prosperity for a secure nation?
I'm not saying that's a characterization of our candidates, but that's the logic which will lead you down a sensible path.
Religion can inform your ideals. Your morality. It can be your measuring stick for what a politician does, but make no mistake it's WHAT HE DOES that matters.
The entire foundation of our laws, comes from the Bible. Every last foundational law.
