Maynard G. Obama, His Senate "Work" is Done

Maynard G. Krebs was a character on the Dobie Gillis Show of '50s-'60s TV days. Somehow Barack Obama and the above cartoon reminded me of old Maynard G. Krebs. Actor Bob Denver, who went on to play Gilligan on Gilligan's Island, played Maynard. One of of Maynard's aversions was to work. He cringed at even the sound of that word. Barack Obama did not spend much of his less than four years in the U.S. Senate doing the work of a Senator. He spent his time running for President, which unfortunately for Amerca, he chased down and won . . .
